How can I help slow down my dog’s eating?
Are there specific purposes for a slow feed bowl other than to slow down a dogs eating? Does it help them digest their food better or help them in any specific way? For example my dog eats rather fast, will a slow feed bowl provide any additional benefits besides just slowing down her eating?
I adopted a very overweight dog. I am working on weight management and she has lost some weight but I'm concerned as she gobbles her food down literally in a minute. I just bought the puzzle bowl but she can only reach one morsel at a time using her tongue as she is a big dog. This doesn't seem right either but I don't know. It definitely slowed her eating. Advice please.
Midnight just had his yearly check up and everything was good. I have noticed that he eats real fast and then throws up his food. So we got him a slow feeder bowl. It helped a little but once in a while he still eats too fast and throws it all up. What else can i do to help him slow down?

I feed them in separate bowls on each side of the fireplace. They are grazers eat some leave etc. I put morning portion in their bowl and then later if empty evenings. I’d like to them to eat all their dry food in two meals and finish in a timely manner. How to train them to do this without making them get too skinny? And how many cups should I feed them? Our 7 month Siberian Husky used to eat so fast we fed him in a maze bowl, but over the last week he hasn't been as enthusiastic about this meals (1 cup Blue Wilderness puppy food 3 x a day). He has had soft stools over the last week and and a half & some day it's pudding like. He got a new Benebone - but no other change in diet or treats... Why does my dog not chew his food? We have the special bowl that slows him down, but still throws up whole meals every now and then. Great quality food... no reason for why he gets sick. Should we switch to wet food?
My puppy swallows her food whole, it is a smaller kibble. We were soaking it in water until a few days ago, but she swallows it whole either way. Until now, I was soaking my puppies food in water. She would eat it very fast without chewing. We got a slow feeder bowl to encourage her to chew, but she is still swallowing the dry food whole. Will she eventually chew it? Is the kibble too small? Is this bad for her digestion if she doesn’t chew, she does well going to the bathroom. Thanks!
