Chinchilla's need dust baths at least 2 times a week. Chinchillas have very dense fur and don't bath in water because the density of the fur prevents air-drying and moisture on the skin can result in fungus growth or rot. They bathe in dust to absorb oils and dirt (much like dry-shampoo for humans).

Pour about 1 inch of dust into the Chinchilla Dry Bathtub and replace lid. Place inside the habitat for 5-15 minutes, allowing the pet to frolick and roll in the bath. Dust penetrates the pet's fur and helps collect dirt and oils. The dust particles will fall away naturally, but the chinchilla can also be brushed with a soft brush for added cleaning.
CAUTION: FOR PET USE ONLY. Not a toy. Inspect and clean regularly to maintain a healthy environment. Replace if any part becomes damaged.

My daughter has a chinchilla and his eyes were glued shut by a yellow discharge. She had him in front of a window air conditioner. She can't afford a vet what can she do to help him

My Chinchilla has been making a hiccup/squealing noise for the last day randomly while sleeping and also awake. The only change we've seen is in her poop, it's slightly lighter and some are wet and soft. Any idea what could be causing this and possible solution?
In the past few days Dexter has pooped in the tub. He pees in his litter box regularly and also pooped in it. I though it wasn't clean enough so I've been extremely thorough with cleaning it. I use recycled paper litter and he seems to fine with it. Poops are normal and he's eating well and seems great. No new occurrences or meds. I live alone so the house is clean, quiet and stress free. No other pets either. He's been playing in the tub at night as well whereas before he would not enter it.
She always sleeping or out of sight . I rarely see her out and when I do it’s been early in the mornings or I’ll hear her on her wheel a few minutes at night.. she lives in a 40 gallon breeder tank that’s got great venalation and chew toys, treats, sand bath, etc everything she could ever want!. Any idea why she isn’t very active? Any way I can help her to be more active?
My guinea pig has white snot coming from his nose and It sounds clogged sometimes. Any advice? He just got done taking his bath.
