Is there space to fit a filter and water heater or does the hood take up the entire top of the tank?? I cant really tell in the picture how a filter and heater would fit with the hood.
- There is a slot in the back for a filter system. You have to get the tank, then measure the opening and find that wide of a system. There are one hole on each side of the filter system. I had the heater in one and a round air stone in the other other holes. These are great tanks to have because I have four tanks of different sizes. Hope this helps you.

Will this fit Aqueon Standard 20 Gallon tank?
- It should fit. It will not fit the standard 20 gallon high Top Finn brand, or other company aquariums because they are all made in different countries. Match the lids and aquariums to the same company and you will have no problems like I had mixing companies.

Would this lid work for a 40 gallon breeder tank? If not I will take suggestions
- The 20" hood only works for 10gal, 15gal, and 20 gal x-high. They make them in bigger sizes so you will have to look to see what hood fight a 40 gal tank. I hope this helps.
