It's too early to know. Spraying generally occurs on a vertical surface where as inappropriate urination occurs on a horizontal surface. If Zeno has not yet been checked for a bladder infection, I recommend to have this done to help rule out a medical cause. If the veterinarian thinks this is behavioral, there are a few factors to adjust. Cats are sensitive to the type of litter, size of the box and location of the box. If you have more cats, you need 1 litter box per cat + 1 additional box. You should also have a litter box on every floor of the house. This article discusses different types of litter and litter boxes: https://www.petcoach.co/article/cat-litter-finding-the-right-fit-for-your-cat/ In general though, cats prefer large, uncovered litter boxes, clay-based clumping litter that is scoped every day and a private, quiet location. If you have other cats or dogs, if they can access the litter box, it may cause Zeno to be afraid that he could be trapped in the box. Cats are a

Poor Zen! From the pictures that looks like an aural hematoma. These are typically associated with an underlying ear infection (otitis externa most commonly) that causes a pet to scratch the ear excessively or shake their head. This scratching and shaking results in the rupture of the small vessels within the ear pinna and the accumulation of blood within the "empty" space. Zen should be seen by his veterinarian for further treatment. An ear cytology should be performed to determine if there is an underlying otitis externa and appropriate otic (ear) medications prescribed. An otoscope exam will need to be performed to visualize the inside of the ear and the ear drum (tympanic membrane) to ensure it is intact. Many aural hematomas will resolve with appropriate otic treatment and low dose corticosteroid use to decrease itching (pruritis), but some will require surgery for complete . On occasion, there will be no ear infection present and the aural hematoma was due to a recent trau

Poor Zora! She does sound like a very anxious girl. If you would like to try a natural calming supplement of some kind, I would suggest Zylkene or Composure - both of these are very safe, and I have seen good results with them in some patients. You could also try a DAP pheromone collar as well, to see if this helps :)

Hi there. Yes, in general, Zylkene is a good choice for a natural calming supplement for dogs with anxiety. However, I would also say that if his anxiety is severe, it's unlikely that a natural supplement alone will make a significant difference. If you didn't feel that the fluoxetine worked well for him, I would suggest talking to your vet about trying a different medication - just as in humans, it often takes some trial and error to find the best choice for each individual patient. Some other daily meds that could be considered would include sertraline, paroxetine, clomipramine, trazodone, or clonidine.
