How often should dogs receive dorzolamide and timolol eye drops for glaucoma?
Hi and thank you for using Boop by Petco. Dorzolamide is typically used every 8 hours and Timolol is typically used every 12 hours. However, this may change depending on the severity of the glaucoma and clinical results achieved. I would defer to your veterinarian for dosing protocols and instructions.

My dog scratched her eye and was prescribed apo-diclofenac ophthalmic (anti inflamatory) and sandoz tobramycin (antibiotic). Which one should be given 10 minutes before the other? I forgot my vets instructions....
You can use apo-diclofenac first then wait at least 10 minutes before applying the other medication. They are both drops (not ointment) so even if you have given them the other way round (tobramycin first), absorption and efficacy is fine.

My dog has tachycardia but I know which type of tachycardia. The symptoms are weaknesses and fainting( the vet explained he faints because his brain isn’t oxygenated enough) would that be Ventricular fibrillation (VF) or Ventricular Tachycardia? Also
Ventricular fibrillation is the heart issue that you see people on tv getting shocked to try to correct. If not corrected, it results in death within minutes. Ventricular tachycardia and atrial tachycardia are very serious problems. In some dogs it is only transient (meaning only lasting for a few seconds) or it can be chronic. If chronic, it often needs medications to convert back to a normal rhythm or at least decrease the heartrate. In humans, both of these conditions are treated with beta blockers to decrease the heartrate or in the hospital for IV medications and symptomatic treatment. Heart disease that causes these conditions has a poor prognosis for good quality of life for an extended period. There is the possibility that the heart rate is simply high and without an actual arrhythmia. This is common in dogs with heart failure that do not have enough function to pump blood throughout the body. I would need to see the ECG to tell. Through the rest of the weekend, try to limit

Hello, Temaril P is a combination of an antihistamine & prednisone, a steroid. You might talk to your vet about keeping Louie on a small dose, perhaps every other day or so. There are also some eye medications that contain steroids, so the steroid effect stays localized in the eye vs an oral steroid that goes systemic. My dog was using tacrolimus drops but they are expensive. Can I use instead Refresh Tears lubricant eye drops?
Tacrolimus is an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive drug that works to stimulate Panda's tear glands and prevent further destruction of tissue in dogs with dry eye. The OTC drops will only prevent drying and do nothing to treat the underlying cause. It would be best to discuss alternative treatments that may be more affordable with your vet or veterinary ophthalmologist before switching any medications.
