If my cat was prescribed dorzolimide three times daily and timolol twice daily for glaucoma , would I be able to use the combination timolol and dorzolimide drops as opposed to 2 seperate drops? He is also on prednisolone drops. Having so many drops
The general answer to your question is yes. The caveats are that Timolol comes in 2 different strengths, so you need to make sure that the combination product is the same strength that he is currently gettting. The other thing you need to discuss with your veterinarian is that since he is getting Dorzolamide 3 times a day and Timolol only twice daily is if you will still need to keep a separate bottle of Dorzolamide for the 3rd daily dosing. Thank you for using Boop by Petco! These products are pretty comparable. I usually recommend applying the drops 4 times per day. There are ointments available that last a bit longer so do not need to be applied as frequently, but can be a little messy. I hope this helps and that all is well!

Hello, Temaril P is a combination of an antihistamine & prednisone, a steroid. You might talk to your vet about keeping Louie on a small dose, perhaps every other day or so. There are also some eye medications that contain steroids, so the steroid effect stays localized in the eye vs an oral steroid that goes systemic. The brand I recommend is called Genteal Eye Lubricating Gel. I'm not sure if Jax has had confirmation of dry eye with a Schirmer Tear Test but there are other medications needed to treat this condition. If you are only suspecting dry eye, make an appointment with his vet to have this test to confirm if he needs the medications or not. There are other conditions that can look the same.
