Health & WellbeingCan Revolution be used to prevent ticks on dogs? I live on Long Island, NY where ticks are quite prevalent, and I have my Shih Tzu on Revolution. Would that be enough for ticks as well, or should I also use a Seresto collar during the summer months.
Revolution does not protect against fleas, so I'd recommend using a medication such as Nexgard which protects against fleas and ticks (including American dog ticks). It's a monthly oral flea treatment program. That way, you don't need to combine two medications to give Candy protection against fleas and ticks. Typically, I do not recommend using two different flea treatment programs togethers. The American dog tick can spread diseases such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Tularemia.
