I have been giving my 20-year-old cat Proviable for many months now. I got it from my vet when I brought her in for her diarrhea and he gave her Flagyl and told me to give the Proviable to her for a month. I couldn't get the Flagyl down her but was able to mix the Proviable in her food and that worked. Will giving her Proviable help to alleviate her diarrhea (as she still has it) and it has been a long time now, about a year.?

Hello! I want to give my kitty probiotics with her antibiotics and after the course as well . I have one that has only lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacteruim longus ( 5 billion cfu each ) is this enough to help her ? Or is it better to get something with more strains ? Also , is it true that it's best to give in between meals because they get destroyed in stomach acids ? (I am not interested in fortiflora or other commonly prescribed reccs ,,Thank you !!

Rx for diarrhea in a dog

One of my 2 month old baby guinea pigs passed away this morning after becoming disoriented two nights ago. He did not loose his appetite and looked to pass normal feces. He brother began to sound hoarse last night when wheeking, and after taking him and his mother to the vet the morning they were perscribed 2-3 drops of albon twice a day. I called back this afternoon after noticing he had nasal discharge and was told he could be administered albon 3 times a day. Do I also give him a probiotic?

Giving my 1 year old cat doxyciline 100 mg liquid form. Wondering about the effect this has on his gi tract and gut flora, would a probiotic or digestive enzyme help mixed in his food help while on this antibiotic? Thank you.

Giulio is finally on a new food he loves and is doing well on. He has a milk allergy and the very last ingredient of the food is lactobacillus acidophilus. Would is the an issue? Are there certain probiotics he should avoid? Or does it not matter since he is tolerating it just fine.

Hello, I'm currently using a joint supplement and fish oil daily. Do you think it would beneficial to add in something called bio cardio (for heart health) as well as a canine probiotic supplement? Is it ok to administer forti flora probiotic mixed with water orally with syringe. Does forti flora mixed with water have the same effect as when mixed with food. Thank you.
