Vetasan is just a chlorhexidine solution. Chlorhexidine scrub and solution can be obtained in several different formulations at most pharmacies over the counter. Depending on the nature of the lesion, triple antibiotic might also be effective as well and could be worth a try. Regardless of which formulation you intend to use, I would keep the cone in place to prevent continued damage to the affected area.

Gentamicin is a medication that we use to treat infections by IV as well as topical like in the eye. It may taste real bitter and cause some salivation, but it should not cause any other problems than that, except you need to buy a new bottle now! Best of luck and Thank you for using Pet Coach.

Hello. I am so sorry your question was not answered sooner. Based on your pictures, it seems to show that the abscess is improving, so continue the Pentid for another 7-10 days. The Chymoral forte is not necessary & may not be appropriate for this condition. Keep the area clean & dry, especially of any drainage & do make sure you wash your hands after cleaning the wound. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello. For the most part, veterinary drugs are equivalent to the human version of the same drug & visa versa. If your vet has no objections, he should readily write you a prescription so you can purchase the medication at any pharmacy you wish to use. Just for your information, the product you are displaying is a human medication & not specifically for dogs. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello, sorry to hear about Georgie. He may be vomiting due to the antibiotic. I would recommend contacting your veterinarian and letting them know Georgie started to vomit with this medication so they can noted on his medical records and try a different kind of antibiotic. Hope this helps.
