Hi, I'm Dr. Johnson. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I understand your frustration! Trying to get pets to lose weight is hard! There are metabolic changes that can occur when dogs age that can predispose them to weight gain. The most common is hypothyroidism ( low thyroid). Dogs can exhibit heat seeking behavior, act more lazy, have skin issues and gain weight with a low thyroid. If you are struggling with her weight you can have your Veterinarian test her thyroid. At home, I'd try to eliminate as many treats as possible especially things like rawhides, which contain a ton of calories. Limit or eliminate table food. Try to slowly cut back the amount of dog food you feed her by 25% and replace the missing volume with green beans. Try to increase activity. As for eating paper towels and toilet paper-some dogs just have a desire to tear it up and eat it. I don't think it's contributing to her weight gain. Just be careful about how much paper she eats it could cause GI upset or an obstr

You could take him to a groomer and have just his underwool removed, that will thin out the fur and make him cooler. The only other way to keep him cool is to keep him inside with air condition. However wool insulates, so it should also insulate against heat a little bit. I suggest you play it by ear.

That is a very common behavior in cats! If the papers are something you don't want them eating, keeping it out of reach or safely in a drawer is best. If they like chewing things, giving them their own box to chew on, or even toys such as a cardboard scratching post to play with can help divert their attention to those items instead.

I can understand how this is upsetting to you! You sound like you have a very kind heart, and I would allow them to pass in your home where they are warm. Using gloves, I would put them in a shoe box that is lined with paper towels to give them a soft and warm place to pass. I hope this helps!

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! It is pretty unlikely that Marley was able to puncture the can with her teeth. I would be concerned that she jumped because she fractured a tooth or injured herself on the can. She may have just been startled. A small amount of air freshener is likely to be bitter and may cause besides and vomiting. I recommend keeping a close eye on Marley. She should be seen by a vet if you think she is painful in the mouth (hypersalivating, guarding, etc) or is vomiting or lethargic. I hope this helps and that all is well with Marley!
