Hello, It does sound like Sophie is be grieving the loss of her friend. In this case, getting her a new companion may be helpful. I would recommend fostering an adult to senior age cat. The benefits of getting an older cat over a kitten is that they already have an established personality and there's no risk of them growing up to become a bully of their senior friend. Fostering works really well because if it takes a few tries to find the perfect friend fit, you can be really sure that Sophie is happy with the new addition before committing to adoption. Feliway sprays and collars are a natural calming pheromone that can be helpful both during her current grieving process and will help when introducing cats to each other at first as well. I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! She is so adorable! The best thing for this is to have her associate other dogs with something positive. I like to use treats for this. When she is around other dogs and behaves well, you give her a treat. This will get her used to something positive when being nice with other dogs. Also, it is crucial to socialize her a lot which can be accomplished by taking her to the dog park. Keep in mind that some dogs do not enjoy the company of other dogs as much and prefer human interaction regardless of how much we want them to have lots of friends. However, these are things to try to accomplish this. Good luck and have a great day!

If you want a big, loving dog, a Labrador or Golden Retriever would be recommended. If a small breed is needed, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel makes a fantastic pet and companion. You should visit the local animal shelter and take a look at their offerings for adoption.

What cuties!!! I would honestly be less worried about bringing a friendly adult dog into your house than a puppy because puppies can be overwhelming to adult dogs who are not used to them. They are hyper and jump and bite/chew on adult dogs and some dogs do not respond favorably to this (others are find and will give the puppy warnings or love playing with them). A great option in these cases is asking if you can do a trial run/foster for the new dog to see if they get along with your dog. This gives you a little time to make a decision. If your dog has been around other dogs without issue and this dog gets along with other dogs, then it is definitely worth a try! Make sure your current dog has the ability to get away from this dog if it is annoying/pestering her, do not leave them alone together initially, and feed them in separate areas so there is no fear of competition for food. Give your dog lots of praise and treats when she meets the new dog. Sometimes meeting on a neutera

Getting a new cat is tricky. Cats are like humans, sometimes they need friends and sometimes they prefer to be alone. If you think Fright needs a friend, I would recommend looking for groups that would allow you to try it out for a week and see how Fright responds. Gender doesn't usually make a difference.
