I feel like Wellness fits all of those categories pretty well. I guess affordable is a very relative term, but if you are only feeding one cat, one of the large cans should last you a bit. This is what I feed to my three adult cats and they all love it. You will definitely need to go to a pet food store, tractor supply, or an online supplier to obtain this food rather than a supermarket usually. Hill's also makes pretty good quality (has a grain free line) food, but I don't think their wet food is smooth like you requested. Anyway, hope this helps!

Brands of food I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I recommend these brands because they have veterinary nutritionists on staff to make sure the food is balanced correctly, they meet AAFCO standards, and they run feeding trials. It's fine to mix wet and dry food together, but I would keep them the same brand to avoid GI upset in Chewy. I hope this helps!

Canidae is an OK brand, but seems to be more about marketing unnecessary ingredients rather than tailoring food to the dogs specific life stage. It is nutritionally adequate though, which is the most important thing. I would have to evaluate the specific product in question to have more of an opinion about it. The truth about most of these foods is that their claims usually amount to nothing more than that of a fad diet (i.e. paleo or atkins) and are not supported by sufficient evidence (even though they will make it sound like it is). As scientifically trained practitioners, us vets prefer to offer evidenced based treatment and the same goes for feeding suggestions. The most important thing on that bag is a tiny bit of writing under the guaranteed analysis called the AAFCO statement. This statement tells you what actual research went into making the product. Below is a link to an article that will help explain this more and give some other info about feeding your dog: https://

My favorite brands of food are Acana, Origen, Lotus and Hobest Kitchen. You can see if they are available in your area. Some of the freeze dried raw diets such as honest kitchen are very palatable to picky eaters. I also find that adding fish oil and warm water to dry kibble can be very appetizing. It is also a very healthy supplement for them.

Hello and thank you for using Pet Coach to address your concerns with Sirius. Royal Canin is a very high quality food that I find many dogs digest easily. I would not be surprised that you are noticing a difference. I think Wellness Core is a good food but maybe its a little more rich than Sirius is use to. There is another brand called California Naturals that you could try if you want a switch. Pick the low fat one obviously! Hope this helps!
