You cannot give the cat that medication. Most vets office can trim nails with out doing anything and may have a carrier for you. Depending on your area, there may be a mobile vet or groomer than can come to you to do this for you. I would start with contacting a vet's office or local groomer and they can assist you or provide you with someone in town that can if needed.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Cats should be on heart worm preventative. This maybe a seasonal recommendation depending on where you live. Also, the nail trimmers used with your dog can generally be used on your cat as well. Just be careful that the blades are sharp and fit the nail well. Always be aware of the quick of the nail and have something to help stop bleeding in case you hit the 'quick.'

Try enticing her with toys and treats. Catnip may also work. A pheromone product such as Feliway Spray or plug in diffuser may decrease any anxiety or stress. Consider an exam with your veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury if the behavior persists.

Cats generally do not require bathes because they are so great about cleaning and grooming themselvs. Their nails naturally shed every 6-8 weeks and having them clipped actually leads to scratching because they want to make them sharp. As far as hair trimmed, that is personal preference for you. Try to brush her daily to get her used to it so there will be no tangles or mats. IF a mat does develop, then she will it cut out by the groomer. Her teeth should be brushed at least 3 times a week if able and you can do this at home with finger tooth brush and feline approved tooth past to help.

This can be difficult because even calming supplements may not help. This link about anxiety but some of the information could be useful: https://www.petcoach.co/article/5-products-for-pets-with-noise-anxiety/ It can be difficult to make pets enjoy or even allow a nail trim. You may try to counteract this by creating a positive association. Begin by having a high value treat. Start toughing his feet and reward him as soon as you touch his toe nails. Do this for a few days. Once Sam seems comfortable with this behavior, show him the clippers. Rewards him every time he looks at the clippers. Gradually move the clippers closer to him until they touch his nail. Give him treats frequently. Then cut one nail, reward him immediately and stop the trimming for that session. Work up to multiple nails. If you are unable to trim his nails, I recommend to have the groomer or the vet's office trim them. Be very careful not to be scratched or bitten. I hope this helps and please feel free to post a
