Thanks for using Boop by Petco! You have a few options here. You could get a muzzle to avoid getting bit. You could consider bathing him which will make the lump of feces more manageable when is wet. Also, you could consider using an e-collar so that it is difficult for him to get around you to potentially bite. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem with Soska. This is a common issue for dogs who have been punished for having housetraining accidents - they become afraid to pee or poop in front of the owner, which then makes it extremely difficult to teach them where to go. I would recommend going back to basics with Soska and starting over with her housetraining as if she were a puppy. This means taking her out frequently for potty breaks, and rewarding with praise and a treat as soon as she poops outside. Inside, she needs to be supervised at all times to prevent any opportunity for accidents. You may need to be very patient at first, since if she is afraid to "go" in front of you, it will take her a long time to trust you again. See our article on housetraining for more information on how to teach her where to potty: https://www.petcoach.co/article/7-rules-for-effective-housetraining

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. What you are describing and knowing that Sobe is 14 years old could be incontinence due to age related changes. Canine cognitive dysfunction can lead to incontinence. I personally went through this with my own dog and it started when he was around 16 years old. I used a belly band with poise pads in the belly band so that when he urinated it would go into the pads. There are diapers for females for pee and poop that your local pet store will likely carry. This is not likely something you are able to train her to stop doing as it is likely due to her aging. A diaper is a good option to use but just be sure to change the pads frequently to prevent infection. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this with Woody. I have a few options for you. First, make sure we are controlling any pain he may be having that is contributing to his trouble walking. Even if he is on medication for this, that might need to be modified. Here is more information about some of the medications that are available. https://www.vin.com/veterinarypartner/default.aspx?pid=19239&species=All&id=4951467 Second, older dogs often have trouble holding a squatting position. Using a harness like a Help Em Up harness ( http://helpemup.com/ ) can be very useful. Finally, I have had a lot of luck with acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapies for this condition, so you might see if you can find someone near you that is able to help you with that. You may be able to find someone near you here. http://www.tcvm.com/Resources/FindaTCVMPractitioner.aspx Good luck! I hope that was helpful and gives you some ideas. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
