My Canary, Ringo, has a Cage that has a peaked roof, like a house. I have a chance to get a Flat-topped roof, larger cage. Which type of cage do Canaries like? I prefer the house-style cage, as it is more attractive. But, I realize Canaries don't know about their cage being attractive. Ringo would be able to fly more in the larger cage. 52 year old Amazon sitting on bottom of cage and eyes not pupils fixed and acting tired.
So I have three parakeets. The blue ones are both younger. I got a female for my blue male and then needed to upgrade to a bigger cage for them so I found someone who was selling a big cage wth a parakeet that came with the cage. He is green and is prob about 4 or 5 years old. When we got him he had a busted out beak. Where his left nose hole should be it was all crushed in. I think the younger ones pecked out his broken nose now don't no what to do
I am going to visit family for a week and I have to take my bird with me. I saw online that it helps to get him used to the cage for awhile before trying to travel with him. I didn't know I should do that until now. It's only an hour away but I want him to be safe. Should I try to get him in a travel cage (which will be a challenge bc I don't think he would trust me enough to pick him up other than by perching) or use his regular cage? Any other ideas? I know to not have loose toys in the cage.
