Dirty feeders spread disease. We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days, or more frequently if you notice your nectar has become cloudy. Soak all parts in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Use a bird feeder brush to brush away grime inside the feeder.

Questions
I bought this hummingbird feeder and the slightest tilt causes the nectar to spurt out the holes in the flowers. This can't be right! How is this prevented or should it be returned to the Petco store I bought it at.
- ive never experienced this..mine hangs on a sherperds crook

How much water will the ant moat hold? Does it last say a week ? How frequent is need to refill? I have one now that has a moat but only about 1/4" deep. This dries out in one hot day, 2 at max. I hang on a tree and ants get most of the nectar.
- Mine about an inch deep but I usually spray the branch with spectracide first because I forget about the water and most of the summer I don't worry about ants. Hope this helps

Is this raccoon proof? We live in a river corridor with much wildlife. This year, raccoons tip our feeders every night and they drink all the liquid as it drains out.
- I have mine hanging on shepherd hooks and by chain in the trees. The raccoon leave the ones in the tree alone. I have dogs so I never tried setting the feeders anywhere.

How to remove base
- It just screws on. Hold the bottom of the base and turn to the left, or counterclockwise. Hope this answers your question.

How heavy is this bird feeder? I don’t have any place to drill a hook in, so would this hummingbird feeder be able to hang off of a few 3M hooks?
- Too heavy for 3m sticky hooks. It’s solid glass plus the weight of the water. Probably 15-20 lbs

How do you prevent the bees from entering the feeder?
- You can't really prevent bees from messing with your bird feeders but what I found if they get bad is go get a little $3 beach wrap at the hardware store hornet trap hang it right close to where the hummingbird feeders are the bees will pretty much go to that before they go to the hummingbird feeders and get trapped and you can get rid of those pesty things

How often should I change the hummingbird nectar?
- Hi Quinney, We recommend disinfecting your nectar feeders every three to five days. Increase cleaning frequency if you notice your nectar has become cloudy.
