Use one ml (top mark of enclosed dispenser) for each 40 liter (10 gallons) of new water. For larger doses, note that one capful (5 ml) will treat 200 liters (50 gallons). Note: The two and four liter container's cap is 10 ml. This dose removes approximately 0.6 mg/l ammonia, 3 mg/l chloramine, or 4 mg/l chlorine. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to five times normal dose may be used. If temperature is >86 degrees (F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose. Caution. Aquarium use only. Keep away from children. Contains complexed hydrosulfite salts.

Questions
Can I use this as tap water conditioner and is it good for quarantining new fish for external and internal diseases, also can I use quick start with this product ?
How much prime do I use for 8oz to 10oz of water? This is for my hermit crab freshwater and saltwater containers.
- just read bottle, directions are for 50 GALLONS ! Man at pet store said use 2 drops per gallon of water. I have done that for years, never killed any fish ! So mix 1 gallon of water in a bucket or milk jug, and add what you need in tank from that, is easiest way

This might be a useless question but I want to be absolutely clear. This both dechlorinates the water and adds nitrifying bacteria, correct?
- No it does not contain any bacterial cultures but does detoxify nitrite and ammonia. I have personally just recently used it on an emergency Un cycled tank and did not lose any fish following a daily dose. Product description from Seachems website: “ Prime® may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. It contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water.”

The tap water at my new location is very high in Iron content. Is there a way to reduce or remove the iron?
- depends on the type of iron.... ferric iron can be removed by sediment filters, while ferrous iron is a bit more complicated(and expensive) but their are options. KDF filters do a solid job(these are usually used as part of a whole house filter system, and not a tank filter) . my understanding of prime is that its protection from heavy metals is basicly limited to low concentrations generally present in water supplies(via chelating agents) and isn't meant to be a solution to high concentrations of iron.

How much comes in one bottle
- Depends which bottle you get.... Its available in various sizes from 50ml to 4 liters. If you are interested in how much water it treats, lets use the 3.4oz(100ml) bottle as an example. 5ml treats 50gallons, so a 100ml bottle treats 1000gallons of water.
