Description

The Rock Beauty Angel will do well in a home aquarium with sufficient space and a balanced diet. Because their natural diet is so varied, aquarists should always feed a diet that is similarly well rounded. They generally feed on a wide variety of algae, sponges, soft corals, and other benthic organisms, which is why they are not recommended for reef aquariums. This fish can become more aggressive as they grow, especially with other angels and similarly shaped/colored fish, so it may be best to choose semi-aggressive tank mates. The Rock Beauty Angel can grow to be 8" in size, so ample swimming space is essential. Full grown adults of this angel will need around 150 gallons. Unlike most large angelfish, the Rock Beauty will not go through a complete transformation from juvenile to adult. They are predominately black on their back half with bright yellow on the caudal fin and front half. This angel also has neon blue lining on their eyes and a red stripe on their anal fin.
