Very sturdy but has a little give to it. I normally stay clear of anything with a bungie attached, but the firmness allows even for soft, leash corrections as needed. The reflective bits are easy to see and work extremely well as intended. My only qualm with this product is the length. Most standard leashes are 5-6' long and this adds another foot to that length. Unless you specifically look for something smaller youll have so much extra leash to hold even when holding with two hands across the body. I do like the subtle tension as any force is dispersed via this leash attachment. Its not as easily malliable like a rubberband but also not rigid. Think a young sapling branch. Bendy but firm. With a shorter leash 3-4' many should find more comfort as they work with their pups.

The Reddy Shock Absorbing attachment made our monthly hikes so much easier! I don’t have to worry about my dogs ripping me off my feet when they pull towards an animal or something they saw in the brush!

We have a big chunky Labrador who doesnt quite understand his size and when we take hik on walks he is a huge tugger. He is constantly distracted by bushes, fire hydrants, poles, you name it! My arm would hurt everytime we got back home. So once i tried the Reddy shock absorbing attachment- i was so surprised when his tugs didnt quite make the impact on my arm like it used to. To be fair the lead feels heavier and i am not sure if my lab notices that and adjusted to it but it definitely cuts down on the pull you feel on your arm. The only thing is the length because if your dog walks close to you the lead will touch the ground. But its definitely worth it! We can go ok longer walks now!

I was very excited about the Reddy shock absorbing leash attachment because my dog likes to pull on walks. I like that it had reflective material for the night and early morning walks. It attached easily to the leash and harness and seems very sturdy. It took a few walks to get comfortable with the extra leash length, but it was fine. It definitely made our walks a little bit more manageable! Less pulling overall.

Gifted this leash extension to my brother, and his response was a resounding thumbs up! The shock-absorbing feature effectively reduces strain on his arm, as his dog now slows down upon feeling resistance. He's happy with the quality and durability, too. A great, practical gift for dog owners – highly recommended!

My dog isn’t a “puller” but she is 75lbs and on occasion she has jerked me when a critter pops up on a walk.. this does minimize it and I can imagine that it would be very helpful to a strong dog that has a tendency to pull. My dog preferred it being attached to the harness vs the collar, it has a little weight to it.
