Buyer beware not good for saltwater tanks

Where to begin. Picked up this test kit and brought it home to test my water parameters. The first test was my ammonia for salt water. According to this kit my ammonia level was at 2.4 . I performed a 50% water change as its only a 10 gallon tank for the quarantine of 2 new fish. I had 5 gallons prep, so no problem. Performed the water change and re-tested the water again and the results where the same 2.4 At this point I was worried that the 2 fish would suffer even more. So I went ahead and prepared a second 5 gallon batch and let it sit for 2 hrs with a pump and heater in the bucket. At which point I did a test for ammonia on the freshly made bucket of salt water. And to my surprise the freshly made bucket also read 2.4 for ammonia. It was late so nothing I could do but save a sample of the freshly made bucket in a zipplock bag and save a sample of the tank which I performed the 50% water change as well. This morning went straight to petco with the kit and my 2 samples of water. I explained the situation to an associate and he ran the ammonia test on both samples. And guess what, the freshly made batch had no trace of ammonia and the tank water which had a 50% water change was almost undetectable. Sorry this review is long but please do not buy this kit for saltwater. Misleading read outs and further more to perform an ammonia test with this kit 3 separate chemical bottles are needed. Yet the make the number 1 & 2 bottles the same and the 3rd bottle was like half the size. Which means you would run out of bottle number 3 and be left with bottle number 1 & 2 with liquid still in them with no way to use them. I would have loved to leave no star review Again be warn when buying this kit

Number of tests?

The number of ammonia tests on instruction sheet lists 50 tests. You have to use three different bottles @ 7 drops each. Now here's the catch, two of the bottles are 15ml. and the third bottle is only 10ml. seems you'll run short on the third bottle before the others?

No, I do not recommend this product.

I returned this ... the pH was way off. compared it to other test kits at a local fish store. Turns out my water was good but reading kept coming back 5.5 when it was really 7.5. I returned it and got the API version.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Accurate but needlessly tedious.

works... but 7 drops for each test? I can see one or two, but why 7? And when there are 3 different chemicals to be added, what is why needing to meter out 21 drops.. really tedious.

No, I do not recommend this product.
