Rinse EcoBio-Stones well with chlorine-free water and soak overnight before placing in your aquarium. If you have an airstone, place it near the airstone. Questions
I have a 5.5 gal tank. can this rock be broken for smaller tanks? Or is there an option for a smaller tank?
- It's a hard block but I suppose it may be possible using a hammer and maybe a screwdriver, but I don't know how you would control whether the pieces would be an even size or random size pieces.

What if the eco rock doesn’t clear up my water? It’s been months. Ans water is still cloudy
- There might not be a large enough EcoBio-Block for the size of your tank or the amount of fish in it. You should also check your filter. It should be cleaned regularly, about once a month. The pump should also be taken apart and cleaned at least once a year to keep the water circulating properly. One test you can make to see if EcoBio-Block is working is to smell the filter. It should smell like dirt, if it smells like ammonia, it is not working properly. The smell can change from day to day though so check daily for a while.

Does the tank size matter for the eco bio blocks? I have a very small tank
- The tank is an eco system that must maintain a balance of chemicals, biological items (fish, bacteria, algae, plants if any) and the water you put in. If you upset the balance by adding too much of one thing (like the active water-clearing bacteria inside the Eco Bio Block), then other items will try to compensate if they can. If they ;cannot, then something might go uncontrolled or even lead to a very bad imbalance. It is best practice to add what the maker of the item recommends. I have a 75 gallon tank with 70 gallons water, 5 gallons of gravel, plastic plants, and 15 very small goldfish. I had cloudy water despite trying balancing with adding bacteria, chemicals and doing a lot of filtering and water changes. I went by the recommendations of Eco Bio. Two medium blocks worked very well after just a few days in the tank.

Can I put a medium stone in a 8 gallon fish tank?
- Yes. I had one in a 10 gal tank

I have semi aquatic turtles. Will this help their water also?
- For the turtles put the block in a small mason jar poke holes in top of mason jar file sharp edges of holes down and place the jar in corner of turtle tank The turtles wont be able to get to it and the bio block can do its job And as added bonus put an air stone into bottom of mason jar so the bios can disperse its more closed off but its better then a plastic jar that you would have to riddle with spore holes

- Depending on the size of the blocks and the directions...they lasted about two years in my tanks when I was using them...good Luck,

Is it normal for the medium eco-bio stone to have a white (soft) film type build up? I have no fish yet in a 55 gal
- That sounds like limescsle to me. Is there white stuff around the edges of the tank where water has evaporated? Make sure your using some kind of water purifying solution with your filter. I don’t think it’s the block. I get limescale all the time from the hard water on the tank glass but never on rocks before. You can just spray it with vinegar and scrub it off.

When I change 25% of the tank water, weekly, what should I add to the tap water & how much
- I do a 40% change weekly and use Seachem Prime as my 'Go-To' water conditioner. It's concentrated so you only have to use 0.1ml (1cc) per gallon. That's 50 gallons per teaspoon. Also check the PH or your water and the temperature. You want to make the water as close to the same as that which is in the tank.

How long does the stone last? when do I swap it for a new one
- Depending on the size of the stone, for the amount of water, they should last about 2 years.

Will this help raise and maintain healthy gh and kh levels in betta tank?
- EcoBio-Block helps keep your pH levels at 7. kH levels must be high in order to do this. As for gH, EcoBio-Block is made of volcanic rock and this helps to keep the levels of minerals in your tank stable as well. This is what keeps your water clear, clean and healthy.
