Vet has ordered Hexachlor-K conditioner 1 spray every 12 hrs for 14 days, was told to spray it in her coat and leave it in. What happens if she gives herself a bath or licks where we sprayed? Is it harmful? If so how do we put it on her and prevent her from licking it?
My bully mix has an itchy skin issue and I was hoping you could recommend a medicated shampoo. We have seen several vets and they have each recommended a different shampoo so I'm not sure what would be best. I would like something antifungal and antibacterial (Chlorhexidine?). I've been told Zymox, Duoxo, Henry Schein, and several others. What ingredients should I look for? I'm currently using Pharmaseb. Unfortunately I don't have any more money for vets now so this is my first line treatment.
I suspect my dog has lip fold dermatitis. It was suggested that I treat at home for a few days with hibiclens. That said, how do I apply hibiclens? Do I need to rinse it off? Any symptoms or side effects to be aware of?
Dental oral care...which products to use? Was suggested OralVet, as its the one which digests in the dogs stomach is swallowed in big chunks. but not readily available in most stores. Is there a comparable product readily available, safe and easily digested?
Can I put Chlorhexidine mixed with water directly on my iguanas fungus infection? If so how would I mix it up for them?
My dog has mites, what shampoo and home treatment do you recommend from a local store
My 12 year old Boston has CHF so she cannot have her teeth cleaned. I purchased some Well Good dental wipes at my Petco. I am wondering if general over the counter dental items are ok to use? or, would some dental solutions be better?
What can I buy for my dog for flea dermatitis
Hi, a dog bit into my dog's mouth (pic). The vet doesn't feel a fracture and she doesnt seem to be in pain. She will be on Amoxi/Clav Pot for 10 days and was given Chlorhexidine 2% solution to clean the wound 2-5 times a day, which I am having trouble doing so. I am also concern about her diluting and ingesting it. I am wondering if there are other ways to clean the cut. Would antibiotics suffice? How long until bacterial infection is no longer a threat? Any other complications I should know?
Dahlia licks her feet a pitbull age 8. Not fixed due to heart mumur. What can I safely clean them with and keep her from licking. DermaPaws? So many oils. Dog wipes?
What is the best shampoo for a Lab that skin is flaking?
Lina has allergies and sees a dermatologist. She takes antihistamine, gets an RX bath one time a week, and I use chlorohexine wipes on sores. We will be doing allergy testing soon. She has been biting her foot and itching her face and now has some scabs on her face and her foot is raw/wet. We did cytopoint last week and she’s itching less but her paw is still really bad. Anything else we can do besides the wipes? If so I’ll see my regular vet until we see the dermatologist.
