Was given this tank as a gift from my spouse. It’s been fun! It’s beautiful and runs quiet. Had some lighting issues a few months ago but coralife did send me a new adapter for the hood. Now…the tank is almost a year old and the other day it started leaking. Leaking from the top frame and bottom frame in the corners. I have emailed coralife and have not heard anything yet. Also tried calling them. I’ve invested way too much in this tank for this to happen. I’m not even sure how to safely transfer my fish to something else, which I now have to figure out and spend more money on. I also have their stand so whatever I get should also fit that…it’s not easy. I’m frustrated and disappointed. This should not be happening, especially with such a young tank!

Love the BioCube 16 gal tank. Using it for freshwater. Easy setup. Self contained pump and filter system and like the programable led lights and different settings. Seems to be well made. A little expensive compared to some kits but very happy with it.

First off let me say that I lobe the way the curved glass looks. It makes you feel more emersed in the aquarium. I was disappointed with the filtration system that it came with. There are upgrades you can do but what it came with was a joke. The return pump seems strong enough and does help with flow in the tank. The one area that I am most unhappy with is the lights. They are bright and the blue is very nice and the timer function is great. I wish that it had more control over different spectrum of light. If I wanted more blue or purple or white or red. The lights are very basic. All in all I think its a very nice looking tank and quiet. I do not think it's worth $400. I would say maybe $250. But, I guess its the price you pay if you want something like this.

Nice self-contained tank. Unique shape makes for fun, creative setups. Filtration area is ripe for upgrades with plenty of bio-media applications. Would consider another to set next to existing for contrast.

Is it possible to bypass the built in filter and use my own external filter?

    I only have one cat, but he loves it.  The fish and inverts seem to fascinate him.  The cover fits tightly, so there’s no risk of him getting in.  Highly recommended cat toy!

I know a nano with just a regular hob filter, no skimmer ect you are suppose to change water weekly, does this keep water cleaner with less water changes

I am planning to buy and I was wondering for heads up what I may need to buy for this to get it started I will be new to the coral life but have had fish only for over 5 years plus. never had this tank, I did read I may need to buy a heater/filter.

    Heater is always a good idea. 78-79 degrees will always be your target temp. Depending of course of your livestock. Make sure you verify each species natural habitat temp beforehand!
