Hello. Yes, the medication in Sileo is used in cats all the time, but actually using this particular product in cats is considered extra-label & therefore you are using this at your own risk. Since the smallest amount that can be dispensed from the tube is one dot, I assume that is the maximum that anyone would want to use on a cat, but PLEASE contact your pharmacy or your veterinarian for the exact amount to be used. Otherwise, I can not recommend the use of Sileo in cats. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Compression wear such as the ThunderShirt may help. Sedatives may help as well. There is a newer drug called Sileo that is specifically for noise aversion. You will need a prescription from your vet for it though. Other drug free alternatives include pheromone products such as the Adaptil collar or DAP plug in diffuser and Rescue Remedy for Pets.

You should take her to a vet for a wellness exam to make sure there is no physical reason for this. Your vet can then prescribe a medication called Sileo, which works very well for noise anxiety. Another possibility to help with this is try to distract him when the noises happen, e.g. play ball or feed him

Unfortunately Acepromazine does not take away fear and anxiety. It just sedates the dog, he will appear quieter, but inside, she is just as anxious, just cannot express it. There is a much better medication for that and it is called Sileo. Your veterinarian can provide you with that and give you the proper dosage for Bella. We are not in a position legally to give out dosages. In order to do legally so we would have to have a patient-veterinarian-owner relationship with you. Your veterinarian also knows your dog and the potential risks for your dog receiving acepromazine.

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Archie. There is a fairly new drug out for noise/sound phobias but it is actually a medicine that we have used for years to sedation and anesthetize dogs and cats. The drug company has now packaged it in an oral gel form and very small doses of the drug are very effective at curbing the fear that dogs experience. The drug in the United States is called Sileo (dexmedetomidine oromucosal gel). I would advise asking your veterinarian and find out if this preparation of the drug is available in the UK. The other thing you can do is behavior modification, or in this case hyposensitization to loud noises that cause him anxiety. Find recordings of thunder and loud noises but play it very softly at first when starting the medication if you can get it. You can then incrementally raise the volume of the recording to start lessening his response to the noises that bother him. I hope this helps and I hope this drug is available in
