Hello and thank you for posting your concerns regarding Genie. Genie is quite the old man! 10.5yrs old is a great age for a dog his size. With the description you have provided me with, it sounds like Genie is dealing with a lot of age related problems. There are multiple things you can do to try and help Genie out with any arthritic pain he may be experiencing. As for the weakness in the hind end, this may be due to muscle loss which is most likely due to him not using his legs as much as he used to. Managing his level of pain and getting him back on his feet may help re-establish some of this muscle loss but in my experience, there will most likely always be a degree of muscle atrophy due to the chronicity of the arthritis. I would consult with your veterinarian to discuss options as most of them you will need to get from your vet to manage the arthritis. Some options to start considering that you can start now at least would be the following: 1. Welactin omega 3 fish oil for canin

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I would recommend switching to a different diet to see if this helps reduce the flatulence. Many times, excessive gas, diarrhea, vomiting or other GI symptoms can be traced back to the diet and bacterial content in the intestines. I would also consider adding in a probiotic such as Purina Fortiflora, which can be found online quite easily. Diets I recommend for most pets include Science Diet, Royal Canin, Natural Balance, and Purina One. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further!

If she is behaving normally, withhold food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with 1 tablespoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount if there is no vomiting. Feed bland until the stool is normal then transition slowly to the regular diet. If symptoms persist or if Genie develops lethargy, loss of appetite or abdominal pain then have her physically examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

Place a litterbox in each corner of the cage. When he goes outside of it, pick up the pellets and place them in the box he uses most often. Do the same with his urine. Soak It up with a tissue or scoop the wet bedding into the litterbox. Remove the litterboxes he doesn't use, one at a time, once you have determined his preference. You'll need to gradually acclimate him to allowing his feet to be touched. Allowing his feet to remain wet or wetting them frequently may predispose him to infection.

Hello Lipaz, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I definitely advocate for people using a more natural detergent not only for their pets but also for themselves/family. There are way too many chemicals in laundry detergent. Now, has there been any direct correlation between laundry detergent and illnesses in pets? No, but that doesn't mean there isn't any. There is a lot we don't know. I recommend either making your own laundry detergent (many recipes on YouTube and it is not difficult) or you can buy something like Seventh Generation. I think everyone would benefit from this. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
