Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Fluticasone is a steroid so it only relieves the desire to scratch. Mupirocin is an antibiotic. Mange is due to a mite. The above ointment may make the skin feel better but it will not kill the mites. I hope this helps!

Dexoderm ointment has a broader spectrum as can treat fungal infections as well as bacterial ones. This because it has Terbinafine inside. Mupirocin is effective against bacterial infections only. The efficacy would depend on the type of infection Bruno has.

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Mozzie and providing pictures. They are very helpful. I'm concerned he could have a hot spot, which is an inflammatory skin lesion. In this case, I do think it's best he sees a vet to have this treated, as if this is a hot spot, a steroid cream can be helpful in resolving it. I would give his vet a call now to make him an appointment. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I'd call your Vet tomorrow and ask if they have the injectable antibiotic called convenia. I think that will solve you having to medicate Cinco. But yes the ointment baneocin should be ok, just prevent him from licking it. It may not be enough, especially if your Vet felt he needed to be on oral antibiotics. Good luck!

No, I would not use Bacitracin on Napa. Although quite safe on superficial wounds, cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. It's great that you've gotten a collar to keep her from licking at the scab! Keep an eye on it while it's healing, and if the area becomes red, swollen, warm to the touch, or has pus, then I would have Napa seen by a vet for antibiotics to treat it.
