Adopted 3mo kitten use to paper pellet litter. Always uses litter box. I'm trying to find non dusty, I live in single wide trailer, clumping and unscented. What do you suggest I try?
You could try a corn or wheat based litter like World's Best Cat Litter or Swheat Scoop, or a wood litter like Okocat if you want to avoid clay litter. You could also try a clay based low dust litter like Dr. Elsey's. Even though she is used to pellets the transition to a clay litter could be fine - I'd start by putting out a litter box with the new litter while still keeping the old one and if she starts using the new one take the old one away.

I'll be moving soon, with my 13 y/o male cat. He has been indoor/outdoor for most of his adult life, with access to a cat door. I'm concerned because he will need to transition to being an indoor cat in our new home--litter box training, the works. (
Start now with closing the cat door at night and keeping Kitter in with a litter box available. After a few days or a week keep him inside only. That way he will adjust before the stress of moving. Most cats naturally use the litter box but you may want to confine him to a smaller area with the box at night when he's in. Use plain litter without fragrance and clean it daily and fully empty it and scrub it with mild dish washing soap weekly. Cats are fussy and if the box is dirty they can start going out of the box. Also pick up bath mats and laundry so he doesn't start urinating on those. He should be fine, most cats adjust well. Make sure you play with him a lot and he may enjoy a cat tree since he is probably used to more exercise when he's outside. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Kitter.

My cat was an outside inside cat but we had to move to an apartment where she can't go outside. Anyway she has long hair and she is getting a lot of clumping litter stuck to her fur. I've had to cut pieces of feces (that rhymes) and it is embarrassin
I'm sorry to hear that Kiki is having these problems. I think there are a few things you can do. First, you might consider trying some different types of litter. Something like pelleted litter ( http://www.felinepine.com ) might work better for her. I would also make sure that the boxes are not covered since that can make it harder for cats to get positioned correctly. You may also consider an automatically cleaning litter box to make sure that the box is always clean. I would also consider having a veterinarian or groomer shave the area under her tail (called a sanitary patch) to help prevent litter from sticking to her fur there. Good luck! I have been using Tidy Cats Lightweight litter for my now 14 yr old cat, for a couple of years. For the last couple of months the litter seems to stick to her feet, legs and tail so consequently appears all over the house. I have been using the 24/7
It's worth a shot to see if it is just the brand rather than the litter format. As cats can be picky about litter types, be sure to do a gradual changeover to the new litter to prevent Olivia from avoiding it or using elsewhere to go potty. A litter mat outside of the box may also help wipe her feet and fur some, reducing the spread throughout the house.

I found a litter of kittens in my backyard. What should I do?
Oh they are so cute! From the picture, it looks like they may be old enough to be on a kitten food, and I will give you a method to get them onto it. If you don't want to keep them, I recommend taking them into the SPCA in the morning. The SPCA can get them the medical treatment they need and can find them a home. To help them get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until they are eating the dry kitten food only.
