For days where it is very hot, you do want to avoid taking your dog for a walk at the hottest parts of the day (mid-day) especially on paved areas as your dog's feet can get burned. They do sell dog booties that you can put on your dog's feet to help protect them. There are many different companies that make these, one example is https://www.amazon.com/HiPaw-Breathable-Dual-Boots-Protector/dp/B01HS2M7FI/ref=sr_1_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1496836452&sr=1-7&keywords=dog+boots. If she has no skin/coat issues, just a gentle oatmeal shampoo is fine for bathing when needed. Most dogs do not need frequent bathing unless they are getting very dirty and bathing too often can dry their skin out. I wouldn't bathe more than every other week unless needed. You can follow this with a creme rinse. I like https://www.amazon.com/Virbac-Epi-Soothe-Shampoo-8-oz/dp/B002CZHYPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496836697&sr=8-1&keywords=virbac+episoothe+shampoo and https://www.amazon.com/Epi-Soothe-Cream-Ri

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. From the pictures it appears that Dune may be dealing with a skin infection. If you are unable to get him in to be seen by the veterinarian, I would recommend the below products, which can all be found online quite easily. Do this for about 3-4 weeks and if there is no improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Dune so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine Combination and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply 2-3 times per day on the affected areas until resolved 3. Welactin omega 3 fish oil capsules for dogs 4. Essential 6 Spot On by Dermoscent

I would be worried that Java had an allergic reaction to the new shampoo. We will sometimes recommend using Benadryl to resolve the small bumps if we suspect they have occurred due to an allergic reaction. https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/ However, if the larger bump is open, then it may not respond to Benadryl. You certainly want to prevent Java from licking or scratching at the wound if it is open because he will make it worse. There are topical salves and medications that you can put on open wounds (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/dog/dog-health-and-wellness/dog-wound-sprays-and-ointments/vetericyn-animal-wound-and-skin-care), but I would probably recommend having your veterinarian look at it first to determine how deep it is and if it needs oral antibiotics to resolve. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Seems like you are doing a very good job. You can use the Benadryl on an as needed basis. Fish oil helps quite a bit with skin issues so I think that would be a good idea. You can get the veterinary commercial fish oil you can buy online or at your local pet store. Good luck and have a great night!
