Quaker Parrot loves it.

My 30 year old Quaker Parrot loves it. He had a huge tall cage but he’s been falling when he sleeps so I had to find something shorter. It’s still big enough to flap his wings and he still falls but is not far so he’s ok.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great cage for small birds

Great cage for a small bird. The clear plastic base keeps food and other waste from being tossed outside of the cage. Solidly built. I really like the double doors that open out or in.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I waited a few weeks before I did this review to get a real opinion of the cage. I got this for 2 parakeets. They did not get along, so I have one parakeet in this cage and the other in my previous typical cage. Wow, can you see the difference. This cage really cuts down the mess. I had no trouble with the directions and assembly, easy and fast. After the 1st time I cleaned it, my parakeet knows to stay on her swing and makes no attempt to flee. I do unlock the bottom and slide the box it came in between to move top for cleaning, it eliminates an worry of the bird getting out. To me, it's easier than the pull out drawers, they make more of a mess half the time. This cage makes it even more enjoyable to have my birds.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Mess Container

Lopsided

Pros: - Keeps seed and shredded toy debris inside the cage. Gold star for mess containment. - External access to food/water dishes is nice - Food dishes are anchored to prevent any moving/ tossing and the small "roof like" guards help keep most debris from falling into the dishes - All horizontal bars create more climbing space - Clear base gives nice unrestricted view - Attractive - Replacement parts available if needed Cons: - Has no removable bottom tray so you must lift the cage off of the base to change paper. That may not be a con for some, however, once you've loaded the cage with toys, perches etc. the top portion obviously gets heavier. Another consideration related to this is bird containment. If you are unable to handle your bird or transfer it to a holding cage you will want to remove the top and place it on a flat protected surface quickly to ensure the bird can not get free. - This is a pro and con... the front doors can hinge outward or inward. I like this because my lovebird has free flight and is out of her cage a good part of the day. Bringing the doors out provides a landing pad but since they can also drop inward, if you inadvertantly loose your grasp they can fall in which could hit a nearby bird. Just be careful. - The clearview skirt is indeed clear but also that brittle type of plastic so be cautious. I personally would not risk frequent traveling in this cage due to the material. I also recommend wiping the clear plastic down using only microfiber clothes to avoid accumulating tons of fine scratching over time if that kind of thing is important to you. - Cutting cage paper to fit. Due to the rounded edges and platforms that the bowls sit on the base is not a typical perfectly flat rectangle/square shape. This may aggreviate those who want a perfect fit. I use white packing sheets (same size as single side newspaper) from U-Haul. They simple require one fold and you can clip around the dish platform if you need a tidier fit but i just press the floor grate over it so that it tears and conforms to the bottom and the bowls still seat fine. Easy peasy. Hope this helps answer some questions about the cage.

Yes, I recommend this product.

High Visibility and Easy Cleaning

Poundkitty2

Very lightweight open airy cage. Having two sets of doors is convenient and cleaning seed tray is a breeze. I would have liked more clips to stabilize the side panels and the doors fall loudly inwards if you don't engage it properly in the latch. The food trays on bottom work fine for parakeets as they like to forage on the ground. Hanging swings and perches was easy but the gauge of the wire prohibits from mounting very heavy branches, etc.

No, I do not recommend this product.

easy clean up

at first the cage looks like your birds will escape but it is actually really great. For cleaning, you unhook the bottom base and can empty it out or wash it. I like that you can order parts online if anything breaks instead of getting a new cage. the only complaint i have is the perches, they offer no way to help sand down their nails like traditional sand perches.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is the large single story big enough for a green cheek conure @ 10 inches long?

  1. No, a larger cage would be more suitable.  One with thicker bars too.  Remember, the conure has the entire rainforest to fly around in, so get the biggest cage you can accommodate.  Have fun with your little buddy.

Wouldnthis cage be good for 2 parakeets

  1. Yes. I bought the cage for my Mom along with two parakeets. Perfect fit

Which size is this one? The description says blue, which is the small one, but the picture is from the large size (terracota details) and there’s no info about model or measurements.

What are the dimensions of this cage?

Does the bottom tray pull out for cleaning?

      1. No, the tray does not pull out. The whole wire portion of the cage lifts off the lower tray portion (the plastic part). On the plus side, the lower portion does a great job of keeping feathers, food, and other stuff contained. The best way I found to do it is to move the whole cage/stand next to a table. Lift the cage up, and place it on the table. Now the lower portion (the tray) can be emptied into a trash can and wiped or rinsed out if needed. On the downside, while you're moving the cage off the tray, the bottom of the cage is open until you place it on the table. The wire floor of the cage sits down inside the base/tray. I have been thinking about getting a larger cage with a traditional pull-out tray and wheels on the stand so that I can move the birds around more easily....but I know that will involve sweeping or vacuuming....something I don't have to do with this cage.
