Smaller can for Pate

Kim

I would prefer a smaller can for the pate. My cat only eats 1/4 of a can at a time and she is finicky and doesn't like it straight from the fridge. I bought the stew because of the smaller size but she would not touch any of it. Had to donate to a local shelter. Another flavor would be helpful too, but unfortunately, I have the only cat who does not like seafood flavors. UGH!

Good for my kitty. Too expensive to waste 1/4 of a can. Please make smaller cans. He’s not a fan of the stew, but that does come in the smaller size. That is a perfect size. TY

Tucker has been on this for several months and it is working. Wish they came in smaller cans. He eats small amts and it doesn’t stay fresh long enough for him to finish the whole can. :(

A worthwhile prescription to keep up

The quality of this food isn't as consistent as the kibble but the performance is undeniable. There are occasional chunks of.... Stuff. That didn't get properly ground down or some cans are a looser texture than others, but my cat has happily devoured every can no matter what. Luckily for me he's not picky as long as he gets wet food, and the Hill's C/D has proven itself a vital part of his health no matter the form.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is supposed to be a pate or a smooth consistency. This has hard chunks in it. My cat will avoid the chunks. I end up wasting some of the food because of these hard chunks.

Thank you for your review. While we strive to create foods which will be palatable and acceptable to all cats, we recognize that not every product will match every cat's preferences. When this product is manufactured, the meat is ground through one-fourth to one-half inch plate, depending on the product. Small pieces are expected as they may pass through the plate and are not harmful in any way. We do offer a full line of foods. To see what products we offer that might be a better fit for your cat, please visit our website. We hope this helps. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Lack of quality control

Dewey's Mom

Some batches are as dry and crumble others are cans of stew. My cat is reliant on this food for his health and wellbeing. I only gave it 3 stars and not 1 because he reluctantly still eats it no matter how it is prepared.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Can this be warmed up in the microwave?

  1. Yes, just remove from can and heat in a microwave safe dish.

My male 18 month old cat has had crystals removed twice. He was put on hills science diet urinary care CD multicare. How much do I feed him? He is 12 lbs  I have the can food ty

  1. I would give him 1/2 a can am and 1/2 can pm. I add water and a few chucks of fresh cooked chicken ( the water is added because my cat doesn’t drink any  and the chicken because my cat acts hungry ) He does not eat any dry food , only canned.

Why do I need a prescription for this product? Is there a medication in this cat food? My Vet will not prescribe for third party medications.

  1. Exactly!  Why? Our cat requires this FOOD so as not to form crystals and become blocked. But there is no medication in it. It just controls the amounts of minerals, calcium, sodium and potassium citrate to promote the right ph levels. Actually the vet said it’s fine that our other cats in the house eat it as well, since he got blocked from sneaking their other food. So if they can eat it, without a prescription, why do we need to pay a vet bill yearly for our male cat to get a prescription for FOOD?

I need to put my vet information for this food. Where do i do that ?

  1. As you go through checkout, you should get a pop-up asking for your vet information.
