Green stuff inside the food

ZD

I would have given four star but there is something inside the food. I purchased several cans the other day and the first two I opened had something green inside. I’m not sure what it but it looks like fungus. The 3rd can I opened did not have it but the first two did. I Have been buying this food for several years and this is the first time I see the green stuff. I didn’t return the product but I did wanted to report it to Hills. Just in case, I also checked the expiration date and the food has not expired. It has 2026 on it. Pictures are attached with this review.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear of your experience. The product variation which you are seeing is related to normal ingredient variations. Dicalcium Phosphate, which is a mineral used for strong bones and teeth, can cause colored specs. You can be assured that these variations would have no impact on the quality and nutrition of the product. All of our products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you would like to take advantage of this guarantee, please return the unused portion of the product to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange.

Appealing high-moisture stew

Like most Rx foods this is expensive, but it seems to work well for cats going through issues. We used this while treating a bad IBD flare with antibiotics. Cat eagerly eats it and is doing well! High moisture helps with hydration and also means empty cans are easy to rinse.

Yes, I recommend this product.

What is the caloric value of i/d chicken and stew cat food, 2.9 oz.?

  1. Hi Pgmy, the lable on the inside is super difficult to read. It says: Calorie Content: (calculated): 946 kcal ME/kg; 78 kcal ME/can. I am not sure what the ME stands for? Hope that helps!
