They changed the recipe to the tuna stew k/d kidney care and my cat hates it. It's super dry and mushy now. Please change it back!! He's refusing to eat it and needs to be on it.

Senior Girl with CKD Loves It

Susie&Olivia

Olivia, 14-year old kitty with CKD, loves this food! Several months ago she "let us know" that she likes her food in a mousse consistency. So I take this out of the can, add a bit more water, and whip it up with my stick blender until it is light and smooth. Then, after a few seconds in the microwave, she laps it up! She does eat numerous (5+) small meals a day, but she is happily eating, purring, and has good energy for a senior girl.

Best prescription wet cat food for renal disease.

Elodies mom

This is the only kidney disease prescription wet cat food my cat will eat. She loves another brands dry food but I understand that dry food is not as good for her. I wish this flavor came in the smaller size can. She eats such small portions at a time and won’t touch it if it has been out for more than 30 minutes. My cat only eats it when it's fresh out of the can, because this food doesn't refrigerate well; as another reviewer noted—it changes the smell once it's been in the fridge for a day or two. I hate to waste so much of it, especially given the hefty price.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good, doesn't come in a smaller size

Gi's Critters

My cat likes this product, but I can't continue buying it because I have to waste most of it, and it doesn't come in a smaller size. I have to split this large can in four meals for my cat (half a can or 2 meals p/day) and refrigerate the rest. However, my cat only eats it when it's fresh out of the can, because this food doesn't refrigerate well; it changes the smell once it's been in the fridge. I tried warming it up for a few seconds in the microwave before giving it to her, but she won't eat it like that, either. I also tried giving her the tuna and veggie stew that does come in a small can, but she didn't like that one at all...

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

Why has the prices become so expensive. The higher it gets everytime you visit the stores. The SIZE IF PACKAGING IS GETTING SMALLER AND VERY.

  1. I think you should contact the manufacturer about this.

In the Analysis, I see that there is minimum 5% crude protein, but there is no upper max level listed. Often there is a min. and max value listed. What the maximum % of protein?

    Do you need the prescription?

    1. Yes, just give them your vets name and phone number.

Is the chicken and tuna 5.5 oz cans a pate/loaf or chunky type of food?

    1. It says Pate on the can in the picture. The "stew" version, smaller cans, is chunky.

What are the magnesium and phosphorus percentages?

    1. Thank you for your question. The magnesium level in this food is .057% on a dry matter basis. The phosphorus level is .45% on a dry matter basis. Hill’s Pet Nutrition
