Six year old male cat had recurring bladder issues before being prescribed this food. After having this food he's not had another episode of bladder issues. He loves the food as does our other two males. Win!

Horrible Stuff

Do NOT feed this to your cat! This food has very little meat in it and a ton of carbs. Cats are carnivores and their diet requires an intake of meat. This food will ruin your cat metabolic system even though it says its a metabolic food. Your cat Metabolic system is comprised of your cat’s endocrine system such as the thyroid, pancreas, liver. If you deprive your cat’s metabolic system of the required nutrients that they get from eating meat, and that the body needs to work properly you will end up with a sick cat that has hyperthyroidism or diabetes. Both of our cats were put on this food to get their weight down and within a few month they both developed mild hyperthyroidism. We stopped feeding them this food and put them on a high meat diet and their hyperthyroid problems are better.

Keeps my kitty well

My kitty was well on this food (and the Hills wet stress formula food) for 4 years until there was as a shortage of it and it was no where to be found on 9 sites. He then flared badly on his cystitis and feline lower urinary tract disease and stopped peeing. It was touch and go for six months with kitty bleeding in his urine. Now that the dry stress metabolic formula has become available, he is getting better. I know the ingredients in the food. What I’m concerned with is that it treats my cat’s medical condition and definitely helps keep him well and that is most important of all. My kitty has lost 4 pounds on this food and loves it.

Very little protein, lots of allergens, costly

I had been purchasing this food for a couple of years, then it went out of stock everywhere. Subsequent to a bad hurricane after not being able to find it anywhere I had to switch my cat to the urinary C/D regular food (no multicare/stress). Either due to the stress of moving a couple of times after the hurricane (from our house to a place we sheltered, then from there back home) and the noise of the hurricane he started scratching himself and had scabs everywhere, all over his entire body. I finally found the Urinary C/D Multicare/stress (but not metabolic - still out of stock) and got him started on that. After almost a full bag, the majority of his scabs are gone and he is no longer scratching himself, but he has since gained quite a bit of weight. Now that the Urinary C/D multicare stress+metabolic weight is back in stock I compared the ingredients. For the most part they are exactly the same EXCEPT this product (metabolic weight) has no actual chicken in it, only chicken meal. It also has no whole grains, only wheat gluten and corn gluten meal. In addition to that it contains powdered cellulose (plant fiber) and dried tomato pomace which are both known allergens. I'm not sure why this food costs so much since there's no real protein in it to speak of. The nonmetabolic formula contains chicken, chicken fat, egg, hydrolyzed casein (milk) and whole grains. It does not contain wheat or corn gluten, cellulose, or tomato anything. I guess I will have to continue using the nonmetabolic one and just have him attempt to get more exercise around the house.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This diet has been successful at eliminating the recurrence of urinary crystals in my Norwegian Forest Cat. In addition it helps with his weight. He was almost 20 pounds. He is a big cat but over time he is now at a healthier 16.5 lbs. it also helps with his stress by keeping him calm. All of these keeping him healthy. He just had a positive vet exam and test results. I am very pleased with this product.
