Great Product.

My cat, who is picky, eats this food like it's made of cat nip. I understand all cats are different, but I am glad my cat took to it since he has kidney issues. My only question is how many calories per can does it have in order to know the right amount to feed him as I normally portion out a certain amount per feeding session (I have 3 cats, so I can't leave food out all day or one of the three will eat everything.

The food may well be great for nutrition value, but our 17 year old cat wants nothing to do with it. We tried all the flavors and he will not touch the stuff, even after giving him an appetite stimulant. I actually cannot find any brand of kidney care wet food he will eat.

We appreciate your feedback. We could not tell by your post if you had done a gradual transition or not. We generally suggest doing a 7-day transition, as this allows them time to get used to the new flavor and ingredients. This can also help ward off against any sort of tummy trouble. Please know, all of our products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you would like to take advantage of our guarantee, please return the unused portion of the product to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange. Hill's Pet Nutrition

I'm sorry I may have messaged before I don't care what they say the constancy has changed all while the price has gone up. My cat pounds through these cans and is starving. This never happened before and some of the cans are littery liquid.

Thank you for the feedback. This is certainly an unusual report. We would suggest speaking with your veterinarian to determine treatment for your pet. While it is difficult to tell the exact cause for this change in texture, we can assure you that this variation has no impact on the nutritional value of the food. Some possible causes of the variation are the freshness of the product or temperatures the food has been exposed to during distribution.

Saved my senior cats life!

Boo Radleys Mom

This food saved my cats life! At 13 years old Boo Radley was diagnosed with kidney disease in June 2023 and I was told he would have weeks to months to live. After a few weeks of IV fluid hydration and switching him to K/D Chicken and Tuna Stew he is doing so so well. Within a few weeks he had gained his weight back and was back to being playful and silly and cuddly. He is now 15 years old and eats 3-4 cans a day. I am so so grateful for the extra time, healthy time, this food brought us.

Can I buy just a few cans to see if my cat will eat the k/d diet food?

  1. Yes, depending on store supplies.

Why is everyone out of the cans of k/d stews?  Are they being discontinued? When do you think they will be back in stock?

What is the difference between k/d and k/d + mobility? Are they the same? My cat needs the mobility part. It was really helping him

    1. k/d mobility formerly k/d+j/d provides joint support as well

Did you discontinue the k/d + mobility?

How many k/cals are in a can of this food?

      1. Thank you for your question. There are 70kcals per can. Hill's Pet Nutrition

It appears you are out of stock of the Hill's Prescription Diet Kidney Care k/d Early Support in the Chicken Stew Flavor. What is the difference between the Kidney Care k/d Early Support and the regular Kidney Care k/d?

      1. Thank you for your question. The Prescription Diet® k/d® Early Support will have slightly higher levels of phosphorus, sodium and protein. Hill's Pet Nutrition

My cat really likes the Hill's science diet youth (formerly senior) vitality 7+ chicken and vegetable stew. Does this variety have the same recipe/ingredients? If not will the youth vitality become available again?

      1. Thank you for your question. Prescription Diet k/d is not comparable to Science Diet 7+ Adult Senior Vitality. We are still making the Youthful Vitality, however, it is now called Science Diet 7+ Adult Senior Vitality. Hill's Pet Nutrition

What is the ingredient that requires a prescription under the law?

      1. Thank you for your question. Our Hill’s Prescription Diet brand pet foods are formulated to address specific medical conditions that can develop in pets. These products, like all pet foods, are regulated in the US by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
