Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Support your adult cat's bladder and urinary tract health with Royal Canin(R) Feline Urinary SO Dry Cat Food. This veterinary-exclusive cat food dry formula helps promote a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. By helping to increase the amount of cat urine your feline produces, this cat dry food helps with the dilution of excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in your cat's urine, which contributes to stone formation. Mix with your cat's complementary Royal Canin Urinary SO Wet Cat Food to give them a texture that pleases even the finickiest eater. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some cats. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your cat on this urinary cat food for long-term urinary support. Promote your cat's overall wellness with each serving of Royal Canin Urinary SO cat food formula.

Keep them healthy

Mary Ann

Started this years ago when one of my 6 cats had a urinary infection. It’s been good for them all since then. Advice is to keep it well sealed in its bag to keep it fresh. They can tell the difference.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Vomiting

MoLouisCat

My two adult cats have been eating this food without problems, until recently, since 2017. The most recent bag of food caused a myriad of problems for our two cats, that sadly took about a month and a half for us and the vet to diagnose. Both of our cats were throwing up almost EVERY TIME they ate. As a result, they were also eating less, which was concerning for our smaller cat, and clearly impacted their energy levels. Both our cats have other, differing health problems, so unfortunately it took us weeks to discover it was the food that caused their vomiting. Right after we switched to Hills, both cats stopped vomiting after every feeding, had appetite, and their spunk back. I feel terrible that they both suffered for about six weeks until we learned it was the food causing their sickness. Reading other reviews here and elsewhere online helped me diagnose the cause and I am astounded that RC has not had to report their formulation changes.

A day doesn’t go by without my cat vomiting. I believe something has changed in the ingredients. Looking for an alternative diet.

Immediate vomiting and diarrhea. 2 different cats experiencing it with this new bag just opened today. Have been fine on this food for 3+ years. What's going on with this new formula? Pulling asap.

Something is different, cats are vomiting

Avid Cat Rescuer

I have been buying this exact food for over a decade. I am a cat rescuer and well versed with cats and urinary blockages. I had a couple males on it and then eventually switched all of my cats over to it because they would devour this. Recently I noticed some of the cats throwing up after eating. I thought nothing of it aside from of they are too fast ECT. Well this has continued and my cats have lost weight. Now they refuse to eat this food. It now just sits there and gets thrown away in the morning when a new meal is served. I feed my cats in separate areas twice daily both wet and dry. The wet I feed is not urinary so.....I have multiple cats. When this issue is happening with all of them this is very concerning. I will be reaching out to everyone I can. Something is very wrong with this food. Please take this issue seriously before any other cats may be harned.

Vomiting and aversion

This worked to dissolve and prevent struvite stones, but then suddenly the vomiting began. Thinking it was hairballs, I switched to the wet food—some old cans I had in case of emergency.,But when I bought new cans the vomiting escalated. She developed an aversion to the SO in any form Since my cat is overweight, she can get acute fatty liver if she does not eat, so I fed her some commercial food WITHOUT issues. That’s when I came to this site to see if my situation was unique. Obviously not.

New bags made my cat sick and hospitalized

Apple C

My cats have been eating this food for many years but all of a sudden they started boycotting it. I assumed it was a bad batch and bought a new bag. They enjoyed the new bag a little but still boycotting it. I noticed more frequent vomits and then suddenly my cat had acute pancreatitis and was hospitalized for 7 days. The scariest ever! Nothing had changed for her in her environment just the behavior towards the food. My other cat also was boycotting the food but did not develop pancreatitis so I’m pretty certain the food was the culprit (they just had varying reactions to it - thankfully not both of them hospitalized). I immediately changed their food. I’m reading more reviews of pet parents noticing cat vomits and this is worrisome! Has Royal Canin acknowledged anything? Can you tell us what exactly changed in the formula? I’d like to make sure I don’t feed her the new ingredients in any way to keep her healthy. This information would be helpful to all pet parents!
