Loves the food

My cat, Mittens, had an appointment with the Vet today. Mittens weighs 18.4 pounds, which is in the normal range for a Norwegian Forest Cat. However, the Vet says that he is overweight and prescribed the Metabolic Dry Food for weight loss. My concern is that Mittens is very finicky about the food he eats, so I didn't know if he'd change his diet. Well, we put down half of the prescribed daily feeding and he liked it. We keep dry food down all the time so it will be easy to limit his food intake.

Great food. My cat really likes it and she doesn't get sick from it. Best of all she has lost a little weight so far. Only had her on it so far for 6 months, but seems to be working. Well worth the price.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My finicky cat loves this food and she has lost 2 pounds gradually, which is perfect since she is petite. She has become much more active and playful. Highly recommend!

Helps him loose weight

He likes the food, being a Bombay cat-still asks for extra.. he likes when i wet the dry food too. But im adhering to diet plan. Cuz at first he seemed satiated.. so i know hes okay. Bombays are greedy. Hes lost one pound in two and half months of food. Hes overweight by five pounds ciz he begged all the time 😂 so now we are here and actually im glad this is quality food. I know hes okay even if he acts liek a transient and homeless. Hes really spoiled and healthy..getting healthier. Will be back cuz he needs it. And later when hes allowed regular food, i will stick with this high quality brand, as that should help maintain because i think the cheap food out there has fillers probably is what causes unnecessary weight gain

Yes, I recommend this product.

I give the food five stars, but Petco zero stars. I’ve ordered this in the past and it’s always come within 2 to 3 days. We were low on food but enough to get by for a week. Little did I know they had none in stock on the East Coast anywhere and had to ship from Nevada. I was not warned About this and it would take two weeks to arrive until after it had shipped from Nevada. They obviously don’t care about pet parents and how stressful it is to not have their cats prescription food available. I am now going to start using Petsmart. They had the food available for same-day pick up with their prescription. petco is a disgrace. If they can’t keep things properly stocked, I am now turning off my AutoShip, and just using PetSmart.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I started using the Metabolic food 9 months ago for my cat, Milo. It has made a HUGE difference. Not only did he lose the weight he needed, he started playing again like a kitten. He is much more active and his vet is thrilled with the outcome.

How can this be healthy for a cat when the second and third ingredients are high carb items (grains) and the fourth ingredient is wood pulp?

  1. Cellulose is a natural plant fiber (not necessarily ‘wood pulp’), and is used to help move food thru the cat’s digestive system - similar to why people that eat a high fiber diet tend to lose weight. The addition of cellulose also appears to help many cats with hairballs.
