The food is great but you were out of stock. Strange that you would request a review on a cancelled order.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very, very unhappy. We've been buying this product for over a year, and it did a great job controlling lesions on my cats belly. The formula must have changed because she now has lesions again, and we noticed she ate a lot more of it than usual. I see similar complaints about the dog food. We are actively searching for a different brand, as this is heartbreaking.

great, if your cat will even eat it.

pros: within 2 weeks, my cat's skin issues and vomiting problems that she's had for YEARS completely resolved. cons: she absolutely loathes this food and won't eat more than a few bites at mealtimes. she started dropping weight immediately and increasingly just refuses to even acknowledge that it's food unless i'm standing directly over her as she eats. 1/4 of the way through the bag and i'm already needing to try another brand of food because -- crazy enough -- cats do need to actually eat food to survive, and they *will not* eat this.

Great Cat Food, Poor Online Experience with Petco

The food itself is great for our cat—5 stars! 🐱⭐ However, buying from Petco online was disappointing. Despite uploading the prescription during checkout, it took three days for approval. Shipping was fine, but the packaging was poor—our bag arrived with multiple holes, forcing us to transfer everything into an airtight container. Due to this experience, I’ll be buying from other vendors or in-store only going forward.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Forever greatful!

My girly had the worst skin and ear issues. She was in and out of the vet with ear infections, scratching herself till she bled. I started her on this food and a couple weeks later she was feeling better, more comfortable and her ear infection went away and stayed away! I’m so glad I made the switch. It’s truly amazing how much we can change our kitties lives just by changing their food!

Formula change

Catmom2024

My cat has been on this same food for over 10 years. I notice when I opened the latest bag of the HP food, the color and appearance was different. My cat used to love her food and now she wants nothing to do with this food. She has also been having hot spots develop on her belly and has had extremely itchy skin to the point of bleeding. I even had to take her to the vet and she had to be put on steroids to calm down all the irritation. She has had allergies her whole life and never had hot spots. I started doing some research on the formula change and saw that a lot of the recent posts on Royal Canine’s website under the cat and dog HP dry food are now 1 star and complaining about the formula change, pets getting hot spots, losing weight, and now having health issues. If your pet is currently on this, I would be careful when the new bag arrives and if you just got a prescription, talk to your vet about the change and see if you can get a different brand of HP food.

This food ruined my cat's coat & skin health and made him underweight. I only began using this food as a last resort against treatment-resistant feline chin acne. It seems to have cured the acne, but at what cost? He looked horrible. He was under ideal body condition, even on large servings of the food. His coat felt terrible and dry, and he was having dandruff, which he had never had before. The protein content of this food is disgustingly low for a cat at 24.1% - before this issue, I had never fed him a dry food with a protein content lower than 40%. I finally switched him off of this garbage and put him back on a high protein, animal content-based diet, and within 2 weeks his healthy weight and soft coat returned. I am honestly really, really angry about the effect this food had on my cat. Especially since he is a show cat, and the condition this food left him in severely impacted show results and basically caused me to waste a lot of money in addition to his international show ranking slipping... I would never recommend using this product unless your cat literally cannot stomach anything else.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Do they have cat wet food in MRX RC Feline Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP

  1. the last I knew -- No. But I would inquire with Royal Canin. It's been a while since my cat would eat the dry food. I know you're asking about moist.

Can someone supply the % phosphorus in this diet? Either as fed, or on dry matter basis is fine. Thanks!

  1. This diet contains 1.7 g/1000 calories

can a cat who has urinary issues also eat this stuff

  1. While you should always check with a vet, it has a s/o index so should be okay
