2 bulbs lasted 25 days combined

1st bulb I purchased lasted 10 days. Got a replacement through them (had to wait 2 weeks to ship to me). Replacement lasted 15 days. I would not recommend this bulb because it is expensive and of poor quality. You are also risking your reptiles health

No, I do not recommend this product.

Lasted 8 days and blew out! For the price of this thing not even make it 2 weeks is ridiculous. I NEVER leave reviews but this makes me mad.

Was opened and "used/returned" which is basically makes this bulb useless not knowing if oil from hands contaminated bulb (reduces life) or due to uvb light loses effectiveness over time...a year or less. Returned very dissatisfied.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have a 36x24x24 enclosure for my beardie, is the 85watt ok to use, it’s not going to be over kill? Also do I need to use a lamp dome?

  1. No I don’t think 85 watts is overkill. You will need a deep dome lamp fixture. Zoo Med has a helpful chart: https://zoomed.com/wp-content/uploads/Choosing-Correct-UVB-Lamp-2018-07.pdf

Does this come with a lamp to screw the bulb in? Or just a bulb?

  1. The Powersun UV mercury vapor bulb does not come withe the fixture, you will need to purchase the fixture separately. Please make sure to get one with a ceramic socket for the Powersun bulb.

Does this product work as a basking light and a UVB light for a russian tortoise?

  1. Yes. We use it on our Russian tort. We use a 160 watt bulb, not sure of the wattage on this one.

How long to keep on?

  1. I would suggest buying and using a red/night light for any animal. To keep their " internal clocks" on a steady schedule. The two outlet timer is also good to have to keep a steady time on the switch between bulbs. Also you wouldn't want to sleep with a bright light shining in your eyes.
