I have no doubt that this bulb is good for some reptiles, but for beardies, I would not recommend it. Not only does he have trouble sleeping with it on, it also seems to affect his attitude at night. I also learned it could hurt his eyes afterward, so it is only useful as a temporary stand-in. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for a beardie owner.

It's an okay product. The wattage I ordered turned out to be too high for the compact top I have, but that's my own fault. The bulb itself is irritating to reptiles' eyes, which I found out AFTER purchasing. Overall, the bulb QUALITY was great, but you can't really use it for reptiles long-term.

This is a good bulb, providing good night time lighting & a good heat source. The very first bulb I bought had a pretty good life...lasted almost 4 mos. The last one, not so great, less than 2 mos. Going to buy a couple more tonight. Lets see how long the next one lasts. *If you are using this as a nighttime heat source, be sure to have a spare on hand! You'll never know when it will go.

I use this for my Albino tremper leopard gecko. He cant see it at night, but you need a deep dome or the bulb will touch the screen top.

Good for night viewing, but blow out quick

I use these bulbs for my ball python's tank. She can't see the red, so its perfect for leaving on at night. Helps warm the tank during cold weather. However, I've had them blow out on me very quickly. They usually last about two months.
