Looks good. Nice thick solid resin piece, has decent weight to it, well made, no sharp edges. I do agree with the person who said it's insufficient as a water bowl for snakes because the bowl is too small. It would be ok for baby garters, or other small species when they're babies to have a soak. And it's big enough the water wouldn't evaporate too quickly. It could be the perfect one and done piece of deco for little neonates, then just add a bigger water bowl when they grow, or if babies are a yearly occurrence just keep it for the "baby tank", or even a little quarantine tank. But personally I give even my baby garters a bit larger water feature, usually a little pyrex loaf dish, because they like to swim from the day they're born. And they prefer to do their pre-shed moisturizing in a humid hide full of damp sphagnum anyway. Any time they get in a bowl they're swimming around like they're looking for fish. For small snakes, and I've kept garters for years, it's really just a very all around nice hide with some area to explore around on top, a low level basking spot if it's in a shallow tank, and I see the bowl as a little nook to explore or hang out in. You can never have enough little nooks and crannies to explore or curl up in when it comes to smaller snakes. I have absolutely no regrets getting it, and I'd like to get a gray one if I catch them on sale again. And I don't keep geckos but it seems like it would be great for them, or lizards of a similar size. If I had one complaint it's that it's just like an inch too long to put sideways in a 10 gallon which limits it's versatility in a way that's unnecessary. And that's kind of a minor niggle. And I wish they'd let you choose the brown or gray one ordering online. That's not the product itself but something that should be said with items that come in different colors. Like we're not trying to match brown or gray rock themes in our terrariums that we spend hours making look nice.

My leo LOVES this hide. Initially she was skeptical, but now she's either hanging out on top or hiding out inside the den. She loves to bury herself in the substrate for warmth. It's directly under her heating lamp so it stays nice and cozy for her. There is a lot of room inside as well. 100% would recommend. Also, I love how large the water dish is.

Got this for my king snake, great hide she absolutely loves it. The water dish makes one side of the hide have a lower ceiling and she loves going on that side.

In the winter if the room gets cold, I worry about the tank being too cold. Placing the castle crib underneath the light keeps it warm, whether my gecko is basking on top or underneath in the hideaway. She immediately took to it, she loves it!

I bought this the other day just looking for a bowl to put mealworms in for Marty, but I figured they might like a rock styled hide, I had one of those coconut ones, a cardboard box, and an old tuperwear before for a humid hide, and none of them really held heat well. The girl at the counter said she had one for each of her leopard geckos and they loved it, so I figured that was a good sign. Brought it home, washed it up, replaced Marty's cardboard hide with it. And they love it. That lil baby leo sneaks up under it all the time, and when they're not there, they're crawling all over the top. It's always warm to the touch, fantastic at transferring heat, and the mealworms cant climb out of the bowl. Would totally recommend

I really like the concept of this. But when I was ordering it I was really expecting grey as the rest of my gecko’s stuff is grey and was kind of disappointed when I got orange in the mail. I kind of wanted to keep it consistent. I actually just went to petco the other day and saw this exact one but didn’t like the color so I tried to find it online and was really excited when I found it in grey despite it being more because of shipping. So it kind of sucks that I got the exact same thing I saw in store for more. And it did have some chipped spots that were really sharp that I filed down. But I don’t hate it. It serves its purpose.
