My juvenile bearded dragon is going through shedding and just got bored and agitated with the live crickets, so I tried these, and I put them in a little treat bowl and he really loves them. They can't be used as a stand alone protein source, but good as a substitute along with their fresh daily veggies!! For the price, it's worth a try!

Yes, mealworms freeze-dried or alive are an excellent source of protein for mice and other small animals such as hamsters. Keep in mind you don’t want to just be feeding mealworms as a stand alone meal, they are best pared with seed mix and lab blocks. My mice love them! When feeding I typically give each of my mice one mealworms each at meal time, but you can leave them out in the cage and your mice will eat them.

No the worms never become live. I feed them to the wild birds and they love them. I don't know anything about Venus Fly Trap.

They can, but only in moderation. Too many dried mealworms can cause impaction. Live mealworms are better.
