Leopard geckos are popular reptilian pets that can vary in color and have peppy personalities that can make them fun to interact with. They require minimal care—in comparison with other lizards—and are great pets for beginners. One of the first things you’ll need when creating a welcoming environment for your new reptile is a leopard gecko enclosure.
To house a single pet, your leopard gecko tank should be at least 10 gallons in size. If you decide to bring more geckos into the family, you’ll need to get a terrarium 5 gallons bigger for each additional reptile. Leopard geckos do well with two or three in one tank—but only one should be male to avoid them getting territorial.
When considering your leopard gecko tank setup, you should keep your reptile’s comfort in mind. In the daytime, the habitat temperature should remain between 75- and 85-degrees Fahrenheit. At night, they prefer to be around 10-degrees cooler.
Keep your leopard gecko terrarium mostly dry but provide an area for your lizard to get moisture—like adding a small damp clump of reptile moss for your pet to enjoy.
Substrate is the material put down to line the bottom of your gecko’s tank. Because the leopard gecko substrate is a surface that your pet will lie on and eat from, it should be made from a suitable material designed for reptiles. Reptile carpet is also an ideal option for your pet.
There are plenty of ways to make your tank aesthetically pleasing and more welcoming for your new lizard.

SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wha tbeedding i should use and how much light they need please hep :)
I am about to get a crested gecko and have done lots of research, but am nervous I'll kill my crestie. You see, lots of people have different opinions about additional lighting. 1 breeder said a heat lamp killed many of his crested geckos, while another breeder said it killed her geckos when they DIDNT have a heat lamp. Should I get a heat lamp? (My tank is a 12 by 12 by 18, of that helps at all) Also, should that size tank be good for 1 crested gecko for his entire life?
I adopted a sick Leopard Gecko from a local pet store. The pet store doesn't take good care of Leopard Geckos. They have dried Mealworms, no calcium, no humidity, and their all crowed in one hide. My Leopard Gecko Geo wasn't eating Mealworms or Crickets. She is underweight and her tail is skinny. I started to get concerned so I started syringe feeding her daily with ReptaBoost. Today I saw her throw up some of the mix. It looks like she was struggling to regurgitate. Also the humidity is high.
I bought a wounded baby gecko, I mean wounded because it's tail is gone. I'm not sure how old or what gender it is yet because of it missing its tail. My questions are I put a piece of clean dried drift wood & some dried out lemons & oranges in its aquarium is that ok or harmful? I also added moisture to its substrate & shallow dish of calcium powder & crickets sprinkled with it. Its tail don't seem to growing. Its only 3+half inches long, any suggestions would be great. Please & thank you
patternless leopard gecko body compulsion waves contracting and growling
Is this a good setup for Nighthawk, the first photo is the over all setup, the second one is the side view and the third is the water and calcium dishes. I use an under tank heater that stays at about 88 degrees Fahrenheit and the vines are fake. He has a warm hide and a cold hide with moss in it that’s i spray down every other day. The little box is another little hide that I can see him in. And the background is tile it paper rolls that were painted(they were left to dry for two weeks)
I have a fancy bearded dragon that is almost one now. When I first purchased him we got a 10 gal tank and he seems to be getting bigger. Do you think if I purchase a 40 gal tank he’ll be set for a year or two? Thank you.
My juvenile leopard geckos will try to eat its food but pukes it up shortly after. Bought him from pet smart 3 and a half weeks ago, they did not know the age or gender. But he was fine until this week. He's been throwing up past 4 days. Once before he shed, and the two days after. He wants to eat but ends up throwing up!? He's been losing weight.
My one year-old leopard gecko about a week ago shed and ripped too many layers of skin off her tail and it’s been bleeding and cracking she didn’t drop it off and giving her a bath putting mineral oil on it Neosporin and Vaseline she’s very restless and continuously licks her tail I have her on Eco earth and she still eats and poops and Drinks really good
i have a adult and baby bearded dragon i. seperate tanks one tank is probably like a 40g and the other one is pretty big not sure of gallon size. what uvb light is best for them. and could it wait a couple weeks until i get paid or is it crucial today
My leopard gecko may have early signs of kidney disease. The vet says the xrays were fine and he looks healthy and gave me some omega 3 to give my gecko. He is 18 yrs old. What can I do at home via diet, soaking etc to help him heal? I have found a yellow waxy substance in his hide twice. It looks like dried glue.
Hello, I have a leopard gecko. He's a juvenile, and I normally feed him regular/small mealworms, but the store accidnetly gave me giant mealworms. Would it be okay to feed them to him, or would they be to big and to much of a change. Also I heard they could bite him, can they hurt him?
