Though chameleons are cold-blooded, they have a special talent for warming the hearts of their pet parents. To make sure your chameleon stays warm and cozy in their enclosure, make sure you purchase the appropriate reptile heat lamp and lighting equipment.
Chameleons are cold-blooded—or ectothermic—and cannot regulate their body temperature. In the wild, chameleons depend on the sun to help them stay warm during the day. As a pet, your chameleon will need a replacement for the sun to help them manage their body temperature. A basking light, or reptile heat lamp, serves this purpose.
Chameleons need a reptile UVB light or basking lamp to survive. It should be one of the top items on your list when preparing your chameleon habitat.
In the wild, chameleons rely upon the sun to help warm them in the morning. They have also developed the ability to withstand chillier temperatures at night. In fact, they need a drop in temperature each day in order to regulate their metabolism.

There are different ways to put together your chameleon lighting setup to provide the right amount of light for your pet during the day. One of the easiest solutions for your reptile heat map is to invest in a light with a timer. You can set the timer to turn off your reptile UVB light every 12 hours.
Chameleons can tolerate big drops in temperatures, so unless your home gets colder than 60 degrees at night, your pet should be fine without chameleon lighting during the night. If you live in an area where your home becomes very cold, you may want to lower the power of the light using a dimmer switch. If you turn your reptile light off at night, remember to turn it on in the morning if you don’t have a light with a timer.

What is the best way to heat hedgehog cage with lamp?
Fancy leopard geckos need light. If I keep the red light on 24/7 as directed by, what should the temperature be?
Since full spectrum growl lights for plants are supposed to mimic natural sunlight (is that correct?) then can I use that for my green anole lizard glass cage and save all that cost for a uvb light? I also have a heating pad for my back I could put under it if need be...?
Is this a good setup for Nighthawk, the first photo is the over all setup, the second one is the side view and the third is the water and calcium dishes. I use an under tank heater that stays at about 88 degrees Fahrenheit and the vines are fake. He has a warm hide and a cold hide with moss in it that’s i spray down every other day. The little box is another little hide that I can see him in. And the background is tile it paper rolls that were painted(they were left to dry for two weeks)
Whay can i do about my hachling iguana over heating
Do leopard gecko need a heat lamp my leopard gecko has a heat mat that is 88-90 degrees?
I have a leopard gecko and it seems that the temperature in the tank isn't getting to what it needs to be. I have a heating mat and a thermostat and i have the heating mat highest up to 93 degrees. But the air inside on the warm side is only like 79 degrees how do I fix this I know that heating mats are the best for them but it isn't making my tank warm enough. Also, I know that heat lamps aren't the best since they aren't basking animals. So what should I do to make it warmer?
Hi there. So I am looking into getting a heat dome for my crested gecko. I know they don’t have to have a heat lam but I want him to have a UVB bulb Because it’s good for them. But I am not quite sure that type to get. Any suggestions? I was looking at petco’s tropical combo pack. He lives in a 10 g. With live plant. (I will upgrade when he is bigger) also do you know an age on him? I got him 3 months ago from petsmart. I could tell he was a male a week after I got him. (Pic from yesterday)
