When used as directed Reef Buffer will raise the pH of your reef system to 8.3 without fear of accidentally overshooting the pH to a dangerous level. Whereas competing products simply use sodium bicarbonate, Reef Buffer is made with a blend of carbonate and bicarbonate salts. This blend of salts results in Reef Buffer yielding a pK of roughly 8.6 in saltwater.

Check pH and alkalinity before use (use MultiTest Marine pH & Alkalinity to test ph nd alkalinity levels). Use 5 g (1 level teaspoon) for every 150 L (40 US gallons) to raise pH by about 0.1 pH units (this will also raise alkalinity by about 0.5 meq/L). For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. Dissolve in at least 250 mL (one cup) of freshwater, then add to the tank. The pH of natural sea water is 8.25-8.30. In a well established reef system pH adjustment may be necessary biweekly to semiweekly. Dosing requirements will vary, but do not exceed the recommended dose without checking your pH and alkalinity (alkalinity should not exceed 6 meq/L). If an alkalinity of 6 meq/L has been reached and a pH of at least 8.20 has not been attained or substantial cloudiness that does not clear within 15 minutes is encountered, then the system is not ionically balanced. To restore ionic balance perform a water change or adjust the magnesium & calcium levels to approximately 3:1 Mg:Ca.
DO NOT OVERDOSE. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement.

Hello! Things didn’t go so well with cichlids and I only have one remaining which I moved to a different tank. The 45 is now empty and the others besides one blue African cichlid has died. I did water tests and most came out fine except the Carbonate hardness which was at a 40. (That’s bad as far as I know if you could clarify that would be great) but I have a goldfish that would do great in there but I’m very attached and I don’t want anything to happen to him as well any idea of what I can do?
If I make water for salt water fish, about how much sea salt I need to put in water? And does the sea salt must be cleared
Hello! I was wondering if you could help me out. The internet doesn’t help out to much and the bottle of the test strips doesn’t tell me the ideal amount some of these should be at. So if you could help me out here I would really appreciate it. And please tell me the amount it should be at and if it isn’t ideal how to improve it please and thank you. Reds's aquarium is so very cloudy. Can't see turtle til she surfaces! Don't know what caused this or what to do. Ordered vacuum but it won't be here until Friday. Please Help. Put in stuff for ammonia.
My 5gal goldfish tank (for a 4 in goldfish) is currently at a really low pH (6.0-6.4). What is the ideal range for goldfish, what is the best way to alter the pH and how gradually does the change need to be.
what is the best way to control the ph in a discus tank?
I accidentally bought ich x for saltwater. I’m wondering if I can use it in my freshwater tank?
My flowerhorn tanks water has exptremely high nitrate level . I returned from vacation yesterday to find a cloudy tank and high levels nitrate . I did a 50% water change and added prime . He now is gasping for air or at least that’s what it looks like and nitrates are still in the red . I was told to add aquarium salts and wait it out . I’m scared I’ll loose him . What should I do quarantine
Hello i have a fish tank 45l with 11 fishes in it (Shubunkin , opaline gourami , honey gourami , trichogaster etc) . i added the fish a week ago and tested the water and it was fine.today i see that 2 of my Scalars aren't eating like everyone else , so i tested the water . Everything was fine except for Nitrite levels that was 3.0 - 5.0 ppm. I changed 25 % of the water and added Easy Life Filter Medium and after some hours i tested again the water quality and it was the same I also added salt
Hi, I just tested my betta tanks water & his ph is good sitting at 7.5. But my alkalinity & water hardness are both very high at 720 ppm (alkalinity) & 300 ppm (hardness). i’m just curious if i should be concerned since my ph is normal
My blood parrot cichlid's tank is extremely cloudy. Whenever I clean his tank I usually put in some water clarifier and conditioner in, and normally this works just fine and the water is clear. However, I recently just got a 30-gallon tank. When adding the solutions again I adjusted all the measurements so that it would suit the tank. Instead of clearing up it just stayed the same. I checked all the levels of the tank, pH, etc. I don't know what to do
I bought aquarium salt for my betta fish. How many times should I do a water change for his treatment?
