Tropic Marin Original Balling Components are the three salts used in the Balling method to allow an independent dosage of calcium and carbonates adapted to each individual aquarium. The three-part method adds calcium chloride dihydrate (part A) and sodium carbonate/bicarbonate (part B), while the addition of sodium chloride free sea salt (part C) maintains the crucial ionic balance in the aquarium water. This balanced calcium dosage creates the best conditions for good growth of corals and coralline algae and avoids the inevitable decrease of important elements seen in two-part methods.
- - For the individual liquid supply of calcium and alkalinity to compensate possible imbalances in the aquarium
- - To use the Balling method all three components are necessary: Calcium chloride dihydrate (part A), sodium carbonate/bicarbonate (part B) and sodium chloride free sea salt (part C)
- - All components are available separately in packs of 1 kg/2.2 lbs. or as set (3 x 1 kg)
- - Each single salt component is simply dissolved in RO water
- - The separate solutions are very stable and can be stored indefinitely

The three salts (parts A, B and C) are easily dissolved in separate containers of RO water (see table for salt and water quantities) and the resulting solutions are then ready to use. Separately add equal amounts of all three solutions successively to the tank water daily (DO NOT MIX THE SOLUTIONS). The addition of 1 fl.oz./30 ml of each solution will raise the calcium level of 10 US-gal./35 l by approx. 15 ppm and the alkalinity by 2.2 degreedH. Maximum dose: 2 fl.oz./60 ml per 10 US-gal./35 l of aquarium system volume per day.
If the product gets into your eye please rinse consistently with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if wearing and continue rinsing.

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me out. The internet doesn’t help out to much and the bottle of the test strips doesn’t tell me the ideal amount some of these should be at. Hello! Things didn’t go so well with cichlids and I only have one remaining which I moved to a different tank. The 45 is now empty and the others besides one blue African cichlid has died. I did water tests and most came out fine except the Carbonate hardness which was at a 40. (That’s bad as far as I know if you could clarify that would be great) but I have a goldfish that would do great in there but I’m very attached and I don’t want anything to happen to him as well any idea of what I can do?

We are new to having aquariums, we really didn't realize so many things played a factor with the water. We currently have a 10 gallon tank but want to increase to a 29 gallon tank. We currently buy gallons of water but with the 29 gallon tank we really don't want to have to do that. We have well water with a salt filter. My levels from to tap was nitrate 10, nitrite 0, hardness 0, chlorine 0, alk 100, ph 7.. is my tap water safe even with the salt filter.
tony takes tumil k supplement, in total two & one half pills / day & they are huge, so I cut them up which equals 6 pieces in the AM & 4 pieces in the PM.(He also takes amlodipine every 8 hrs & methimazole every 12 hrs) the issue is the tumil k. even cut up they’re big pieces. Is there some other form other than pill for a potassium supplement? I’ve tried the powder,he needs so much of it that it’s very overpowering mixed in his wet food &he wont eat it. I hide the pills in treats but still Hard

I have been reading online about alkaline diets and was wondering if we could prepare food for him at home that would be sufficient in preventing the formation of the cystine crystals. The food he is on currently is very expensive ($42-$46 every 12 days). How can we determine the correct amount of homemade food or his weight and breed?
