Hi, I've been giving my dog a homemade diet since he was diagnosed with kidney disease and supplemented it with a little eggshell powder which acted as his calcium. The vet has now given a phosphate binder called ipakitine and in the ingredients it says it contains calcium carbonate. Do I stop giving the eggshell powder now as this ipakitine contains calcium? We’ve recently bought a pet snail and I’m wondering if we should put calcium rich sand on the bottom of the tank we have some made for hermit crabs and I feel as though he shouldn’t be submerged in water all the time so should I put some down or is he fine? I’m unsure of what type of snail he is but the person at the shop said he was a cold water snail I think

Hello i have a fish tank 45l with 11 fishes in it (Shubunkin , opaline gourami , honey gourami , trichogaster etc) . i added the fish a week ago and tested the water and it was fine.today i see that 2 of my Scalars aren't eating like everyone else , so i tested the water . Everything was fine except for Nitrite levels that was 3.0 - 5.0 ppm. I changed 25 % of the water and added Easy Life Filter Medium and after some hours i tested again the water quality and it was the same I also added salt
Trying to treat betta for Popeye otherwise healthy happy and active. Moved from five to three gallon filtered heated tanks. Feed freeze dried blood worms, daphnia and bug bites by fluval. Also am changing some if not all water every few days. Treated with kanaplex several doses no real improvement. Switzed to metroplex in water treatment as I don't know how food treatment works or how to dose started four doses two days apart and there is some improvement to the eyes. Med is miconidazole.
