Tropic Marin Original Balling Components are the three salts used in the Balling method to allow an independent dosage of calcium and carbonates adapted to each individual aquarium. The three-part method adds calcium chloride dihydrate (part A) and sodium carbonate/bicarbonate (part B), while the addition of sodium chloride free sea salt (part C) maintains the crucial ionic balance in the aquarium water. This balanced calcium dosage creates the best conditions for good growth of corals and coralline algae and avoids the inevitable decrease of important elements seen in two-part methods.

The three salts (parts A, B and C) are easily dissolved in separate containers of RO water (see table for salt and water quantities) and the resulting solutions are then ready to use. Separately add equal amounts of all three solutions successively to the tank water daily (DO NOT MIX THE SOLUTIONS). The addition of 1 fl.oz./30 ml of each solution will raise the calcium level of 10 US-gal./35 l by approx. 15 ppm and the alkalinity by 2.2 degreedH. Maximum dose: 2 fl.oz./60 ml per 10 US-gal./35 l of aquarium system volume per day.

Hi, I've been giving my dog a homemade diet since he was diagnosed with kidney disease and supplemented it with a little eggshell powder which acted as his calcium. The vet has now given a phosphate binder called ipakitine and in the ingredients it says it contains calcium carbonate. Do I stop giving the eggshell powder now as this ipakitine contains calcium? Thanks

Hello i have a fish tank 45l with 11 fishes in it (Shubunkin , opaline gourami , honey gourami , trichogaster etc) . i added the fish a week ago and tested the water and it was fine.today i see that 2 of my Scalars aren't eating like everyone else , so i tested the water . Everything was fine except for Nitrite levels that was 3.0 - 5.0 ppm. I changed 25 % of the water and added Easy Life Filter Medium and after some hours i tested again the water quality and it was the same I also added salt
Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
My vet wants tony to start a kidney diet b/c his values are beginning to trend upwards in the last year. I’ve tried every Rx kidney diet in the last few weeks & was told it could take a long time .. I should mix it in with his regular food and gradually increase the amount of kidney food. He’s not falling for it.I read about sprinkling bonito flakes(dried tuna flakes)on top of the food to help. Is this safe?also I read about giving him Calcitriol (synthetic form of Vit. D) to help kidney disease
Can latanoprost 0.005% and 1% sodium carboxymethylcellulose with stabalized oxychlora complex 0.075mg, boric acid, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium borate & sodium chloride be used together safely? Is it necessary to test the Ph levels and all the other things for the fish tank water?
I just purchased imagitarium aquarium salt for my betta. I have never used aquarium salt before and It says on the label that I can combine it with sprinkling in a little bit of food once a day. Does this mean it is safe to add the salt in with my fish in the tank? What process should I take so he doesn't become overwhelmed? Also does this help prevent/get rid of fin rot? Thank you!
