My very senior cat with kidney disease is eating Hills Precription k/d. Her recent bloods came back normal and her kidney levels are good, however she is developing arthritis in her left hind leg. A fellow pet owner suggested Vetoquinol Methigel for my cat who had a history of bladder stones (a calcium stone) 8-10 years ago. Does this work effectively to balance the urinary pH?
My vet wants tony to start a kidney diet b/c his values are beginning to trend upwards in the last year. I’ve tried every Rx kidney diet in the last few weeks & was told it could take a long time .. I should mix it in with his regular food and gradually increase the amount of kidney food. He’s not falling for it.I read about sprinkling bonito flakes(dried tuna flakes)on top of the food to help. Is this safe?also I read about giving him Calcitriol (synthetic form of Vit. D) to help kidney disease
Will higher calcium foods hurt a very active 2 yr old cat?
Hi, My fish has white spot which is expanding. It also has something around mouth. Spot looks white with small dots in it. I thought it is an ich outbreak. Currently tank is treated with Sera omnipur (30% of recommended dose). It is big pufferfish. thanks for your help Nikola
Took my 1 yr old male cat Bailey to vet for not seeing him pee that much. She inserted him and got some urine (said he had a little crust down there, not sure what she meant but he does sit on litter). Sample showed no crystals or blood but his ph level was 8, which she said could have been from eating 2 hours prior. I know ph should be at least a 6, how can i help get it to that? I did buy some bladder support powder from Mercola pets and i put a small ice cube in his food. Thank you.
