Considering the description of the signs and the pictures, there is a severe inflammation of the eyelids probably with secondary infection. Allergic reaction or trauma are possible as well. I would recommend an immediate check up as eye integrity and functionality must be assessed. Antibiotics may be needed. Poor guy. Unfortunately we see this a lot with pets that recently get groomed. It is likely Corry got some chemicals (i.e. shampoo, conditioner) in his eye, causing it to create an ulcer or scratch. He will need to see your local vet to have a stain test done on his eye to determine if our suspicions are right here. If he does have this going on, then a short course of prescription eye antibiotics should take care of the issue, as long as it has not progressed too far. Some dogs can normally have a moderate amount of clear discharge from both eyes that can discolor the hair under the eyes a reddish-brown color. Keep Poppins' hair trimmed under her eyes and use a warm water washcloth to clean the discharge daily. However, if Poppins' eye discharge becomes yellow or green, causes squinting or redness to the eye, she will need to be examined by her vet.

It could be secondary to an infection, allergy, or irritant. You could try an eye lubricant, such as GenTeal drops, and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat.

It sounds like your pet Daisy has a very common situation here which is a chemical burn or scratch on her cornea (surface of her eye). This is common after being groomed because shampoo or condition can get on the eye and isn't washed off properly or promptly. Poor girl. I would recommend taking her to your local vet as soon as you can to get her eye examined, tested and treated. It's most likely an eye infection, possibly conjunctivitis. Taking him to the vet now is great, before he damages the eye teslf by rubbing and scratching. Your vet will do an ophthalmic exam, part of which may be putting a dye in his eyes and examining them under a black light to look for scratches on his cornea. Based of the results of the exam, it will allow your vet to know just what is going on and how best to treat it.
