My dog's eye is red and gooey after swimming. Should I worry?

I am sorry to hear this! His eye does look very irritated- and the area around his eye that has a 'cobblestone' appearance suggests that he has some chronic irritation. I would want to rule out a few things that cause these signs including stray eyelashes that are 'ingrown', eyelid abnormalities, allergies and mites. Your dog is not in danger of going blind but you should let the drops a little longer to take effect and you should put an e-collar around it's neck to prevent him from pawing the eyes as he can injure himself. the cause for the irritation is pretty clear as you mentioned he just had a bath.
